The other blizzard: and the pollen count today is...

Actually these pictures don't do it justice. I just washed my car 36 hours ago and this is what I have now...

Pollen count today over 3000.

I don't know what the official count was but this past weekend the hood of our red jeep was nearly completely yellow.

Ridiculous.

I used to have to park in a driveway underneath this annoying tree, my car would look like it was candy coated with sprinkles on top most of the summer

Suburbs of Atlanta. What you see is the larger "Pine Tree" pollen. Other flowering plants and grasses release pollen much smaller, that's what most people are allergic to. I have allergies and have started taking allegra and love it. It really helps.

For about a month in the spring each year, the black streets & parkinglots are visibly yellow-ish, you can see tire marks in the pollen, cars need a daily rinse and you have this weird taste in your mouth everytime you breathe in.

But, hey. It's home.

Bah! 1999 or 2000 it was so heavy in Atlanta you'd leave footprints in the parking lot, on sidewalks.... on the pollen count scale 100 is considered 'dangerous' and we had days of over 5000 , with probably all of March/April being over 3000 daily. I was taking the 24-hour Claritin every 6 hours, plus 50mg Benadryl at least twice daily, plus Ventolin inhaler, plus Nasalcrom (when it was still prescription). The CEO of my company was a cardiologist, and one of the VPs was a pulmonologist, so I had de facto daily medical supervision. I had a sealed, windowless office with private filtered A/C (a/k/a the 'server room' :D) which is about the only way I survived.

And, yeah. It's home.

All the pine pollen on my Lightning Yellow is starting to make the car look like it has a velour finish.

That ain't nothin'. Here lately I literally can't even see out the window in the morning. I have to use the wipers and mist to clear the windshield.

I got sick of washing my car so I got a car cover, much easier now. I like my cover from empire covers, its light weight and the pollen blows off the cover.
