Photoshop request: Heat extraction idea
Can someone please photoshop this on an RX-8 hood? I don't think it will work because it need to be towards the middle of the hood but I am trying to get a visual. Thanks.

Thanks dude!! I think it will sit too far forward, the high pressure zone will be a bit further back but the rotary symbol will be in the way.
Maybe these towards the rear of the hood? Of course all of these would be painted body color.

I wonder how functional the EVO vent is on the Feed RX-8?

i would think further back would be better for dissipating heat.

what about those spacers people use to raise the back of the hood up to dissipate heat? that would far more clean. and function the same if not better. this car is not a mustang.

get over the mustang thing guys, I'm pretty sure 9k is going for function over fashion.
the spacers to pop the rear of the hood would help and I know removing some of that rubber strip at the back of the hood help also but being that he's in TX, I'm assuming that's not enough and why he wants vents.

You are exactly right according to what I have read. There is some type of string test I read on the corner carvers forums to determine that based on if the string gets sucked into the engine bay or not

I was thinking of raising the rear edge as MM and others have done but I dunno. And that fact that it is from a mustang means nothing, under hood heat is under hood heat. Get your engine to the point it is completely heat soaked and you will be looking for ideas as well.

I understand what 9K is trying to do here. Jedi said it best; 9K has his reasons for wanting to vent the under hood heat. Just looking for some PS pics for reference, which unfortunately I fail at miserably.

I always wondered how effective heat extraction vents would be for our cars, mainly because of how far back the engine sits. You would most likely want the vents as far back as possible. Might be nice to find a way to see exactly how the heat from the engine flows through the engine compartment
