Pic request: Stormy Blue on Gold rims

After FIVE years of lurking around the fourm, I've decided to buy the rx8.

With the rising gas price and the new extended warranty, the rx8 can be haz for a great deal.

I am going to use the money saved by the deal to pay for gas and modification.

The sequence will be:
1)Wheels and tires
2)Exterior
3)Suspension
4)Power
5)ICE

In order to do 1) right at the start, I would need your help. Dear forum members, do ANY of you seen a modified Stormy Blue Mica rx8? Or any blue ones with GOLD rims? Subaru guys can pull it nice, yet I am not so sure about a deeper colour Stormy blue rx8...

I've only seen ONE picture of a stormy blue mica rx8 with a multispoke gold OZ superturismoish rims...

Please help me out if you know ANY one modding their Stormy blue rx8...thanks!

Mine is PB; in real life SB looks so darn close to purple I don't think you can compare them directly IMO.

But I think you may be SOL on a Stormy Blue that has gold rims besides the one you already have.

PS Here is a better shot of the wheels. Maybe photoshop the color in?

Talking

The PS god has listened to my prayers:

I am not so sure about the dark blue colour vs the silver ones on a stormy blue mica rx8.

Its so strange. I am a few days away from getting the car. And I visit the car dealership now and then to look at my rx8.

It looks PERFECT STOCK other than the 4x4 wheel gap...

The whole car, with this colour and the sand interior, makes me think again before modding it JDM yo way....

It just look so elegant with that colour combo...damn I am not sure if gold rims goes well with SAND interior...

Maybe a silver one...but oh well.

Thanks PS god. You made my day!

My vote is to Stay Silver...but I have a question. Why would the rising gas prices make you want to buy a car with horrid gas mileage? I can't think of a single car that would have worse gas mileage than an 8 that you would still consider the 8 as an upgrade.

After driving a family sedan that has the following qualities:
1)Front wheel drive
2)Small turbo that run out of steam at about 5.5k (max trq at 2k omfg)
3)Super torque steer
4)65/35 LOL weight distribution
5)500km / 50L ('cause I mod the exhaust, chip, intake, and go from 150hp to 227hp at the crank. Car run rich like no tomorrow)
6)193 whp at the front wheels yet I can't use all of it unless its on a straight line.

In a nutshell, a VW Jetta 1.8T for SEVEN Years and 180,400 km, I realized that life is not just about pwning people at the stoplight.

The moment I drove the Rx8, it just won over me. It has the following qualities:
1)Rear wheel drive
2)Small 1.3 NA that rev till kingdom come
3)No torque turbine smooth
4)50/50 weight distribution WITH LSD (I heard its a good drug for drifting)
5)Probably 300-400km / 50L, ASSUMPTION: i use 12L/100 as average
The above assumption is based on Rx8 Canadian owner's experiences:
"10.1L/100 and worst was 13.4L/100"
"people's mileage generally got "better" after 10k."
"11.8L/100km almost all city."
Source: https://www.rx8club.com/canada-forum-35/how-many-kilometres-tank-139420/
6)between 170 to 190 at the rear wheels that I can use anytime

Assuming I am going to keep the car for 160,000km (8 years engine warranty ftw)
160,000 x 12L/100 = 19200L of gas

Assuming the gas price is 1.3 CDN / L.

19200L x 1.3 CDN/L = 24960CDN.

For my jetta...its 10L/100
160,000 x 10L/100 = 16000L of gas

Assuming the gas price is 1.3 CDN / L.

16000L x 1.3 CDN/L = 20800CDN.

At $1.3CDN/L, difference = 4160CDN(a 160,000km lifetime)
At $1.5CDN/L, difference = 4800CDN(a 160,000km lifetime)
At $1.7CDN/L, difference = 5440CDN(a 160,000km lifetime)
At $2.0CDN/L, difference = 6400CDN(a 160,000km lifetime)
At $3.0CDN/L, difference = 9600CDN(a 160,000km lifetime)
At $4.0CDN/L, difference = 12,800CDN(a 160,000km lifetime, probably World War III anyway at that price)

Since I got almost 13k MSRP off for a 108km 2007 car, that alone is enough to pay for my gas difference over the period of 8 years / 160,000km at $4 CDN / L gas.

If you read through my logic, you will understand. Against a 7 yr old engine on a family sedan with 10L/100km, this is a FTMFW deal for me!

NICE STORMY MICA BLUE! Now...what do you think about that Silver OZ Ultralegerra one above?

I am trying to reduce unsprung weight here, so the choices are limited...

I say go with the gold... I've looked at the ultraleggera before and love them... I'd get a different color for my 8 since mine is black, but the gold looks great on the SB... the car you showed is one of my favorites (makes me wish SB was out when I got my car)

No OZ but close, with some other considerations in color. Maybe a PS god will take pity again!

I think anything in silver would look good.
For unsprung weight Its pretty hard to beat Enkei RP-F1's...18 x 19.5 at 17.5 lbs.
and for a little more bling...Goodwin has them in SBC finish too.

Yeah...The sand interior really makes it hard to match with gold...

btw...this thread is full of Enkei RP-F1s!
https://www.rx8club.com/auto-rnd-91/killer-special-enkei-rpf1-18x9-5-45-a-98939/page11/

That black one makes me go ... "whoaaaa"

Maybe, just maybe...

an SB Rx-8 with CF front lip, "black" appearance side and rear, and a CF spoiler lip.

Lesat weight for the "look".

Then rolling with "Black" Enkei RP-F1 with those 275 35 18 tires...

Yum....2nd best compare to Mazdaspeed rx8 eh?

Man I wish there is a website who can dress all these parts in 3-d...I will pay for that freakin services...(Great idea anyone wanna go ahead u may become the next facebook for cars haha)
