Pics of Brilliant Black with tinted windows

Finally got my windows tinted last week- 20% in the rear and 35% in the front, using Madico CharCool non-metallized tint (it's been mentioned in other threads, but to repeat- if you have the factory navigation system, do not put tint with any metallic content on your rear window- completely blocks the GPS antenna).

I also got my piano black "RX-8" B-Pillars from Tommy at FinishlinePerformance.com yesterday and put them on, but I unfortunately didn't take close enough pics this morning to see them clearly... maybe tomorrow.

Cool! They really look sharp in person... and at half the price of the JDM version

P.S. You'll still be the southern twin, as I have yet to get my stupid snow tires off

Thanks- yes, I'm pretty sure they're made of the same material and use the same adhesive backing.

AAARGH! I have a couple of bubbles on the b-pillar garnishers. I hope they'll settle out in the Florida heat otherwise I like them.

Looks good, but I've had 5% before when I lived in FL on my Sunfire and night visibility suffered through the rear. It makes more sense with all the sun you get down there, too. In Illinois, you can have whatever you want on the back, but nothing in the front. I figured the 20% in the back would make the 35% be not so dark (and with the 90% that is put on the glass when it's manufactured, it's really about 10% and 25%).

sometimes parking in reverse at night is a little tough, but i just open the side window and look out that way....its not like i run around in reverse all the time ;-) but seeing out the back through the mirror while driving is no problem at all...ive had 5%, 10% and 20% on my three cars before and dont like anything lighter than 10 for myself......

anyway....yours does look good, didnt mean to take away from yours.....tint makes a car look so much better than no tint...

I'll do it in the morning with daylight- I just tried in my garage and the flash is making them look odd since they're so reflective.

So you're running front tinted without front plates in Illinois? Hmmm. Keep me posted... I'm interested.

Throw in my clear corner lenses with non-amber bulbs, I've scored the illinois illegal mod hat trick. Needless to say I'm not speeding much anymore, and I won't even think of having more than a couple beers with dinner. It's actually helping me become a better citizen

I'll start a running thread when I get my first warning/ticket. The only area I feel really uncomfortable driving in is Hoffman Estates/Barrington. I know a couple of the local cops from my daughter's DARE program and they seem much more relaxed about silly stuff like this. We'll see...

dude, aren't you afraid of having tints in front or do you have a permit from your eye doctor? i've already gotten a ticket for no plates in Chinatown - $50! i wanted tints in the front but i know the laws and my wallet wasn't as heavy as it used to before i bought this car and the gas it likes to guzzle

Yeah- I'm slightly worried, but I'd rather have a cool, protected interior. The 35% on the fronts isn't that dark, especially since it's not metallized- you can easily see inside at the occupants- I'm hoping that cops will consider that before handing out tickets based on the letter of the law. TitaniumRX8MD has his done at 35% all the way around and said he's had no problems living downtown... it's dark enough to block the sun and save your leather, but you can certainly see in from the outside. We'll see!
