because i had them for the corner lights and day lights and after a couple weeks they started flickering and not working properly so i had to remove them and get new ones
and yea i know the proper term is manual but i like using "stick shift"
and im only 17.. i dont really have the money for a slr camera yet so i gota stick with the cheap sony cybershot

You don't need a better camera. Heck, mine is 4 years old and does the trick. Just use a tripod, adjust for white balance, and look for better lighting sources next time. And it's not even a DSLR, ha!

I think you need to play with the adjustments on your camera. Maybe try using the flash and/or play with other adjustments in the dark, like 'white balance'.
