Today we fabbed up a custom exhaust to our header, installed the seat, belts, dash, power cut-off and some other jazz. This Tuesday is her maiden shake down up at the Autobahn CC outside of Chicago. Then to Mid-Ohio for more testing and her first race next weekend. Then Limerock. Then back to Indy to finish the second car.

Sorry---but you could buy the suspension and a turbo will make more power than my N/A mill.
Speed Source Front Swaybars from Mazda Motorsports (there are 3 Mazda Swaybar options), you want the Speed Source front bar.
MSpeed rear sway bar (yes, the accessory sway bar). These cars don't need much of a rear sway bar.
Koni double adjustable shocks at about $800 per
Various spring rates.
Voila' other than 2-300 lbs of reduced weight, we have a stock RX8 (plus a very well designed and beefy cage of course). These cars are a blast to drive. Add suspension to them and they'll do stuff you could never imagine.

Ran the motor yesterday for an hour with the engine builder and everything was fine. We just put a fresh rebuilt trans in her with new synchros, shift forks and the usual consumables last week.

Those are 225/17/45 Grand Am Hoosiers mounted to 17X9 enkei's. The GAm hoosiers use a compound that is designed to last longer (the Koni races are typically 3.0 hours +/- They are not as fast as the Hoosiers (or the AutoX versions which typically run .5 second faster than the road racing versions---but don't last as long). I would say that GAm Hoosier compound is somewhere inbetween a shaved Toyo RA1 (which you can get about 15-20 open track heat cycles) and a race Hoosier (which you can get about 3-6 heat cycles out of).
