If you are going to roadtrip around FL, you need to make sure you go to Siesta Key, just below Sarasota. The beach is rated one of the 10 best in the world. The sand is like talcum powder!!! Venice beach is also pretty nice for just chilin'

just beautiful. my wife's aunt has a place down in watercolor which is just around the corner from destin and those beaches were beautiful. i still had to get over the fact that most of those beaches you would walk through woods and over pine needles to get to that perfect sand. it even fluoresces at night when you walk on it because of something in the sand.

Oh you need to get on a plane...You have NO idea what you are missing! There are palms, but most of the palms are gone right on the beach execpt in remote areas because of storms. Destin, Ft. Walton, Santa Rosa Island, Panama city...they are all gorgeous, and also very commercial.
You see palms on the beach edges in pictures of places like Figi, the Bahamas, but most of those areas, have been spared by mother nature. It doesn't detract from the wondrousness of the beaches in this area though. I believe someone mentioned they sparkle even at night..it's so true.....
