I can't win.

Yes, this is a different day. Several posts above was yesterday, this is today.

As if the 2 SUVs over the curb and in the trees wasn't bad enough, my parking neighbor doesn't know where the line is.

Throw a handful of nails up there every week or so and people will slowly stop parking there. That's what I'd do. As the the CRV, just key it or break an egg on the hood. No I'm not joking!

Actually, since the car 2 paces to the left of the CRV was to the left side of the parking spot, and the one between the CRV and that one was empty, it left a MASSIVE spot open. So I just parked there after lunch I've got like 8 feet to each side of my car at the moment.

i hope you aren't serious. that's a bit of a dick move to damage/potentially damage someone else's car. then you would lose all right to be pissed when someone does the same thing to you.

no offense, but being that **** is what most likely provokes people to do stuff to someone's car. even if people can't park between the lines, you could park a hummer in that spot and still be fine. i wouldn't care about them parking on the line because they still can't ding your door even if they tried. if the suv wants to park there over the curb then who cares, let them. at least they aren't blocking you in.

Not quite, other cars around the lot are just as screwed with as mine, even POSs.

I wasn't referring to them. While I find them irritating, I recognize there isn't anything against me there.

The CRV is what I was complaining about.

I just included the 2 goof off SUVs for dramatic effect really.

You know RIWWP, if it was me in those last shots you showed where their door is less than 2ft from yours, I'd be awful tempted to key the **** out of theirs. The only issue is, you and they park there everyday so they would know who did it and see you the next day for retaliation. If it were at a mall or some place you only visit once in a long time, then hell yes.

That last set, the van got towed. The owner had a bill without me doing anything illegal.

But, you aren't quite right about everyone always parking the same place. Yes, I usually do, but out building is half a mile long, and parking surrounds it, and the lot goes from ~10% full to 100% full in about 35 minutes in the morning, so where you end up parking can vary greatly, even arriving at the same time every day. I get here well before all that, and that whole end of the lot is empty when I park.

Though I am tempted to use satellite parking, but it's going into summer and it's literally a mile walk from my office to the lot. So....not sure I will have the motivation to do that.

you need to get some yellow paint and a fake hydrant and paint a yellwo strip on the curb there and put the hydrant in the dirt.

?

That won't do anything...

Even putting up concrete pylons or something will just mean they park in front of those, farther into the road. We tried that.

And yes, we. One of the aspects of my department is that we manage site security, including any safety related construction, which this would fall under.

It's only a matter of time till someone gets seriously hurt or killed in our parking lot. And I'm not exaggerating.

It doesn't matter how big the lot is, my company has 2 lots which are quite huge. After a few years most people park generally around or in the same lot of the 2 and especially with a car that stands out like yours, it's not hard to remember who someone parked next to when walking back to their car, seeing yours gone and their damaged.

If it were a typical sedan or make that every other person owns then it would be a lot harder remember who or what the car looked like that did it.

It looks like where you work has a serious shortage of parking spots. Where I work, half our west lot has the unspoken rule of allowing an empty space between each car.

As noted earlier, ever since security towed an illegally parked rental of another company's exec that was here visiting board members, they are too scared to tow any more, and the employees know it, so the parking asshat'ery gets worse by the day.

6 months max left to deal with it though, and then my department is moving to another building.

Not really. We have more than enough spots. Just not next to the building.

We have a satellite parking area that is roughly half of the capacity of the close in parking, but it only sees like 10 cars per day, because it's half a mile walk from the closest end of the building. And since I am on the opposite side from that, it's nearly a mile walk from that lot to my office.

Seriously considering parking there myself, but it's a mile walk in the summer...

I know that is why these people don't, but I guess I object to people that get in late being allowed to be ******** rather than parking in the satellite parking.

If you want a spot, get in early.

Honestly RIWWP, I agree with the get their early to get a spot and not later to park like an asshat but since no one is chastening them, gotta do what you gotta do to protect your car. I park in the farthest spot out of the 2 lots every day. Then again it's also one of the only spaces that offers front to back parking instead of side to side. It's about a 1/4 walk but I walk usually 2 miles a day around our building anyhow for exercise so doesn't really bother me

Did he have intent or just no care for your car? The way you tell it sounds like he just sat there and hit your door 4 times in a row...

Sometimes I'm tempted to take a chance and park next to ********. There was a jeep with paper plates in my apartment's lot the other night that was parked just over the line to take up 2 spaces. There was enough space for me to park the 8 and get out (carefully) without damaging my car. It was either that or park on the street. Since I was with my girlfriend I decided to park ont he street, but I was definitely tempted. I understand if you park in a huge *** lot with plenty of spaces way the hell out in the middle of no where, taking up multiple spaces in order to protect your car. But don't park in a small lot that regularly fills up forcing people to park far away or on the street in order to do the same thing.

It was a nice day today, so I parked about 50 spaces away from any cars, wayyyy out in the middle of a parking lot at the mall. I come back out, and theres a smashed up volvo parked right next to me. I knew it had to be a joke or something, so I walk up to my car, and theres a note on the windshield that says "what ya doin all the way out here?"

I give that guy credit for a good joke at least...

^rofl, that makes my day a little better.

No, im not one to judge or poke fun, but this guy was rather large. He was trying to get out of his car and in the process he kept bumping the door open which was hitting my car.
