R.I.P. Aiden... 01/02/09
So, I was driving to go see some kids from my car club and a 17 year old kid in his mom's Camry decided not to yield to my right of way. I was going straight through a green light and he was facing me making a left to get onto the highway. He didn't stop, assumed I was making a right, and hit me nearly putting me off an overpass. Luckily I hit the curb and the guardrail enough to slow me down so I didn't... but the car is gone. I'm not hurt. I'm a bit sore from the airbag hitting me but that's all.
... and after all this the kid had the nerve to tell me to "chill out". What a jerkoff.
No, I probably won't be picking up another RX-8. I love the cars, but there's too many memories from my old one. It just won't be enjoyable to drive. Whatever I do get though, it'll be a stick and an import. I'll still bum around the boads and I'll probably be parting out sometime soon.
These cds were wedged FIRMLY between my driver seat and the center console... they got thrown everywhere. My phone was also on my passenger seat and got thrown onto the dashboard and broke into two pieces and screen was also cracked, that's how hard he hit me.
... This is all that's left of the front bumper.

Damn girl Very sorry to hear this.
Good news is you are okay, but make sure of that. I think you have 24hrs. to go get yourself checked out after an accident and it still counts. Reason I say this is when my ex-wife got hit..............problems didn't show up for a month or two, thank goodness she did get checked out within that time period.
Oh.....had I been with you and he said that........you'd hopefully be bailing me out of jail and I know where he'd be.

Kimmi.. all I can say is sue the *****. Well his insurance company atleast. Stupidity should be punished is my motto. I'm glad your alright, and its nice to know that the 8 makes sure your protected.
Since your not going the way of the 8... dare I say another Bimmer convert is coming? Seems everyone is going that route lately.

"Chill out?"
What kind of complete douchebag says that after something like that happens? He's lucky you didn't throw him off the overpass, cuz I would have been hard pressed not to.

Damn that was a sweet 8. Glad to hear you're okay, but sue the hell out of that kid, because you're not going to get back all the money and work you put into that car through your insurance. Damn him! Call Craig P. Kenny (or any attorney) he'll show that kid to CHILL!
On another note...Another saved 8 owner, this car saves lives.

Wow Kimmie, after watching the threads of Aiden's body transformation, I feel like making a trip to the NE. It's good to hear that you are fine physically. My 8's and my heart bleed for you.
Stick with an 8 for your next ride. If you acquire something else, you'll miss the 8.
I would.

Actually, I just got back from the hospital because my dad forced me to go get checked and my neck is "seriously sprained" or whatever... so I'm in a neck brace now.
Great.
I'm considering suing the kid, but we'll see.

Good for your dad. Seriously..........it was for the better because if something does come up in the future, it's on record. Wish I could make ya feel better. Hope it's not too stiff in the morning. <---- that's a soft cuddle!

Yeah, I'll definitely keep you all posted. Insurance comes Monday to look at the car so I'll let you all know if its totaled or not. My friend is going to talk to his lawyer for me on Monday as well.
