Front end needs to lose that "ADVAN" sticker. Remove all stickers from the car, in fact.
The back end of the car is HORRID! WTF happened there? The whole flow is just jacked because of that backend! It makes it look like a retarded Hermin munster!
Engine bay - can they pick a single damn color scheme? Can they make it not look like utter *** ?
Props on the interior... NOT!! WTF are these people on! Some sort of gothic person would love the car, the other 99.999% of the people think that **** is RETARDED!!
re-amemiya rx8 = EPIC FAIL!! Total disgrace to their name!!
I don't know why I'm being so passionate about this, probably because they slaughtered an rx-8.

Hah, all you auto haters are so annoying. ITs the same car just with a little less hp and paddle shifters, which makes it faster on the canyons anyway (you dont have to steer with one hand while shifting- so you can concentrate on cornering more). Plus RE Amemiya makes a turbo kit for AT RX8s only! hahah suck on that mannies
Wait....errr....what was this thread actually about???
Oh yeah, now I remember; EPIC FAILURE!!
- headlights look pretty cool, I can see the RX-7 headlight conversion look
- Front bumper, fenders, and sides look pretty good!
- Hood is okay
- rear end is
- Interior is

And I can't believe RE attached their name to this 8. The interior is vomit. I like the fenders and brakes, and that's about it.

I would like to see a real re amemiya rx8 one day or another... they seem stick up to the FC3s\FD3s though.
This car looks like an f360 modena with an f430 ***.

i don't know why you guys think that auto = time wasting i am pretty sure they are not going to for the speed here. i don't see the diffrents between auto and manual in looks ?

Shut it about autos. If you don't like the car, don't bother posting about it. But this "automatics suck" is really old, and it's getting to the point where the next time I see it, it'll mean an "automatic" 3-day ban.

Original Turbo 'd Auto !!
^^^ You Rock Elara.
I know that a lot of Yanks don't appriciate the Japanese design/flair/whatever that is put into automobiles. Some of the stuff Rocks and some of the stuff Fails.
This type of interior style is what has been hot lately and someone with money there will buy it.
It dosen't float my boat, but I'm not Japanese. Appriciate it for what it is. A Rotary even though it looks like an Aston-Martin.

Im joking, I had to. I agree with you, Ive jumped on the AT bashing band wagon before but in the end, its still an RX and is still an incredible handling sports car that is faster than most normal cars on the road.
Its just annoying to see all these midlife crisis old women driving VR autos around here (Which looks just like mine)

I'd disagree with you there. Being able to stay in gear and hold the gear as needed makes the MT faster. Shifting isn't a disability, at least not while the RX-8 has a regular automatic slushbox. If we get the F1 type trannys, then that'll be another story.

The auto, in tiptronic mode, holds gear and will not shift automatically if thats what you mean. And the paddle shifters make it easy to control the car when braking hard before turning into the corner, because you can use two hands to control the wheel. But if you have to shift manually, you have less control on the wheel and theres always the possibility of a miss shift. Plus the auto has a relatively long 2nd gear which packs a kick so its pretty fast, especially on tighter turns.

it's not about having both hands on the steering wheel, it's about the transmission itself.
An auto with a torque converter or let's say a dsg changes slower than a manual, period. Lap times of the very same car manual vs dsg ofter prove this.
An elctronically actuated manual though can be faster than a manual and put less stress on the clutch itself. 40ms is a blast, but cars with that type of gearbox are usually very expensive.
An auto also get worse gas mileage. Bad mpg\slower gear changes are not the best package for a sports car. If you put comfort as a priority then it's another story.

sorry, you are confused. DSG = direct shift gear box is an automated manual. DSG does not have a torque converter. DSG is actually a twin clutch design and can shift way faster than a manual. the DSG can shift in 8ms, lets see you shift in 8ms.
manual compared to DSG = DSG wins.
DSG is NOT a regular automatic.

I know that it is not a regular automatic but its very own twin clutch design makes it in fact slower than other electrohydraulic gearboxes. I mean, the 8ms are a real number but what happens if you have to shift repeatedtly?
They can be the future of torque converters but on real sport cars i doubt they will equal other systems such as the various electrohydraulics. Less clutches = less dissipation, and that alone suffice to adopt one system over another, given that there's no difference between 8ms and 40ms in real life.
