Well folks... another video has come my way.... no RX8 but it's a pretty serious promotional push by mazda on the rotary front...

I just hope that Mazda starts promoting the benefits of the rotary engine to the general public real soon.

 

yea but they have to stress reliability like someone had mentioned earlier in another thread...

im sure by now there are a lot of doubters of the rotary of the engine right now, and nothing would make me feel better about buying the car (im actually having some rotary problems right now ) than knowing that it would be as reliable as some of the piston engines out there.


just make sure that new renesis rotary that they're putting into the rx8 is more reliable than the ones in the 7s.

 

My bet is that Mazda will start promoting the car with a nice ad during the super bowl.

 

I doubt that.... the networks want more money every year and the exposure isn't worth it any more.

Maybe Mazda will advertise during some other primetime show, or somethin... either way I'm ready to watch for it

 

I think we may have to wait a bit to start seeing any major RX-8 push- sounds like they're about to start a really heavy campaign for the 6- and until that's done, I doubt they're going to be promoting the RX-8 much

But, we may see Mazda6 ads during the Superbowl- Mazda has said they're gearing the ad launch heavily towards football.

 

All I am saying is this:

1. Introduce the car at the NAIAS
2. Big commercial during the superbowl a couple weeks later
3. Open up the web site for the RX8
4. Prime time commercials
5. Me, picking up my keys!


Just seems like a logical progression.

 

If there's a Superbowl video, it will be on the 6, and not on the 8. The 6 is going to be Mazda's cash cow, the 8 will be their performance car which most of the time, don't sell nearly as well as a sporty sedan.
