thanks,
I've actually looked at going into working for an automotive design house, but I actually make more money what I do now and am allowed to take advantage of the facilities at my place of work in my free time for my own work(ie scanners, 3D printers)
I have several other projects in the works but am not prepared to share them yet...

SO. Made two enormous milestones this week.
1- received permission to transport 3D scanner off base to scan the FD chassis, this will happen in a few weeks.
2- was able to convert my 3DsMax files into fully editable Solidworks NURBS(this allows me to fully dimension and adjust with an engineering software package)

So awesome, makes me really miss 3D modeling, haven't done any in years. I took classes in Alias/Wavefront Studio back in the day, NURBS modeling was a pain back then. I still own a copy of Lightwave, version 9 I think, but I don't think it will run on my current computer without a software update and $500 is a lot to spend to try out an old hobby again. I'll have to settle for living vicariously through watching your project progress. This also makes me REALLY want an FD again, lol.

^^^ last active 9/11/2015,,,
Whats up strangers, been absent for a considerable time, lots of old names I recognize and lots more I don't,,,
All is well, the 8 is sold and part out sadly and regrettably, but I've moved on. Have a Porsche GT4 on order, and the design business is taking off.
Some latest designs for the FD project
