In the last vid, it says the car is stock. In the first vid those Corvette drivers couldn't handle their cars. It would be easy to be faster than them. I was on the track with a Z05. I could hang with him in the corners. He, of course, could out accelerate on the straight. And, I would eat him up under braking. My car was mostly stock.

thats my friend tom, hes car is pretty much stock hes got 2 bucket seats and a roll bar, stock suspension with upgraded sway bars, thats it
he recently replaced his powerslot rotors with oem rotors and ce28n with street tires,
the guy is really fast, track junkie, hes whole thing is basically mod less drive more,

wow funny. never once considered that these videos would make it over here.
yeah thats me.. and yes, the vettes had terrible lines.. i was in the black group at speedventures - big track at willow springs.
btw im writing this really fast cause trying to get out of the office.
the car is very stock. like my friend said above, just racing beat sway bars, steel threaded brake lines, DTC60 pads. i still have the powerslot rotors, but i think OEM is better - not going to get the the powerslots again.
volk ce28N 18x8.5 with 245/40/18 dunlop startec direzza and a "half-way-to-track" alignment by stokes tire in santa monica. suspension is stock, and worn out - 48K miles on the car, but over 25 track days during that 48K
ive had this setup like this for over a year, dont want to upgrade the car and not be able to tell if im improving as a driver.
you might be able to tell i get a little excited.. even tho its common the vette drivers dont necessarily drive too well, i get a kick out of passing them. they HATE it. so many of them have egos that seem standard equipment on the car, and that prevents them from trying to learn good lines, etc... and as a result, hate the idea of letting a little mazda by.
but to be fair, on the same day there was a black vette that was driving quite well, we had fun - he passed me but i was almost able to keep up, and the really good drivers in the faster vettes.. well, forget it ;-)

here is a vid of me at Road Atlanta
1st time with camera--lots of shaking and mic is the pits BUT watch it all or start watching around 5 mins. I had not been on that track for 2 yrs and this was my 2nd session?
I have the Pettit kit and the vid is proof that a vette can be bettered on the straight with the right set up.
Now some of these cars are high hp models--that mercur and that supra for example--and if a car is on my butt for 3 turns i slow and let them by
ambient temps 70
oil temp never over 180F and coolant temp never over 175.
charge air temps never over 115F (w/m system)
My redline (self imposed) is 7.5K and you can see me short shifting a lot.
I could be much faster on this track---i was driving maybe 7/10 --just taking it easy.
