Well leaving the rebuild out for a second its only about 4000 for the motor, add another 350 for a FD 5 speed, 1500 for ECU and harness, motor mounts and trans mount around 1000, and intercooler for 1200, and new downpipe 400, and driveshaft modified 350 so for say roughly $9000 you could have it swaped. Then if you wanted to make some changes like a rebuild your still under your $13000 mark.

Im down for this swap. Dont get me wrong i love the rx8 and i love the feel of this engine but at this point im getting close to 100k miles and im getting concerned of my engine going out. I can easily find a ls1 with a t56 tranny for 3k versus getting the rotary rebuilt and getting a turbo.

Well I supose if its the Ford Mustang T56 then it'd be ok but you could always spend 2500 for a close ratio gear set and be at about the same price as a T56.

the wait distrubution will get messed up but because of the added wait of the trans and the overall length of the trans it helps keep it pretty close to the 52/48 weight distubution like mike said.

Still cool nonetheless, but an ls3 would be really cool.

Ls6's are awesome. That's what powers my cts-v, but an ls3 has a little more power and are super sweet.

It's not that big a deal unless like your doing Dragons tail or some ultra twisty. It'll work off the line and sleeper V8 Rx's are sick + funny.

If it was an iron block then you would really feel the pain.
