Please tell me you're joking. Can you please tell me how the size of your wheel changes your gear ratios?

Because even if you get 245/35/19 your overall size will still be bigger than my 245/40/18.
What don't you understand? Smaller the wheel, the more torque you'll have.

Although your circumference is smaller you'll accelerate a little faster but its not going to be anything extremely noticeable or significant.

well, the miata tire sizer is my source. all i did was set the stock miata tire size the stock 8 tire size, and then the other numbers for the aftermarket wheels. so according that, a 245/40/19 will technically get you out of the box faster, but is compensated for it's extra weight. the same will go for my current size of 275/30/19.

245/40/18
revs per mile: 784
diameter 25.7
245/35/19
revs per mile: 783
diameter 25.8
Not much difference, but still you're wrong.
PIGBAIT: Of course it wont make any diff.

so you're comparing your tire size of 245/40/18 vs. my 275/30/19? if that's the case the specs are.....
245/40/18
sidewall: 3.9in
radius: 12.9in
diameter: 25.7in
circumferance: 80.8in
revs/mi.: 784
275/30/19
sidewall: 3.2in
radius: 12.7in
diameter: 25.5in
circumferance: 80.1in
revs/mi.: 791
my configuration is still smaller than yours . who's wrong now? lol

275/30/19

A stock WRX will beat a stock RX-8 in a straightline if both drivers are equal. I ran a 14.2 in my best friends bonestock 04' WRX. Autox would definately depend on driver and weather conditions.

I have a few pics of my friend chasing me in his WRX. he's only chasing me becasue he just learned to drive stick on this car (he has always owned trucks but was bit by the speed bug when he bought an auto lude) so he can't catch me yet.

Yeah from a dead stop there very competitive. But from a roll there a joke(stock form)....there top end is even more of a joke. The high point in a WRX/STi is that it can launch out the hole like a Mf'er. Funny thing the Evo on top end is a little more forgiving then the Sti/WRX, the Evo pulls stronger where the Sti/Wrx seems like it straining. Both cool cars in there own way.

The EVO is a bitch to launch due to the rev limiter at 5k or so. It took me three or four runs to get my cousins MR to a high 13 which is not that great for an MR. The WRX however is a breeze to launch hard. As a matter of fact I raced a WRX wagon yesterday from about a 20MPH roll to about 95 where we ran out of room and I had about half a car on him. I was impressed with my RX-8 because I know my friends WRX would kill my RX-8 if I was driving it. I would like to try from a roll though.
