Funny thing the Evo on top end is a little more forgiving then the Sti/WRX, the Evo pulls stronger where the Sti/Wrx seems like it straining. Both cool cars in there own way.

I wonder what a 2.5i would be like compared to an Rx-8? I'm pretty sure the Rx-8 would win by quite a bit, but this car seems to disapoint sometimes...

Of course the RX-8 is much sexier then the ugly WRX sedan. But it pales in comparison to the sleek, sexy, boxlike profile of my 04 WRX wagon!
JK. I still consider myself an RX-8 guy who ended up with a WRX, but it's so apples to oranges. The WRX is a utilitatian little car with some serious go. Not a sex machine. Thats like (non-sti) WRX guys showing your their gas reciepts and saying top this...
You have to mod a base wrx pretty seriously to match the stock rx-8 suspension - hence the 8 being in the car to have in BS autocross, while the non-sti WRX is marginally competitive in DS. The power numbers are not nearly far apart as the handling characteristics.
In a contest of looks the WRX is at as much of a disadvantage agaist the RX-8 as the RX-8 is in a torque shoot-out with a GTO. All about priorities my RX-8 friends.
