Well i finally got around to removing all the shocks, quite easy now that i know the best way of doing it.
So i tidied up all the arms. The process was quite simply using wire brush, flat disk on a grinder, wire brush on a drill and 60 grit sand paper i removed all flaking paint and rust. The back arms weren't really very good. Once everything was rubbed down i painted on a thick coat of red oxide by brush. I removed as little as i could but generally you can't do a good job without removing the arms.
Once that was done i sprayed it will metal hammer 2 in 1 by plasticote. this leaves a nice galvanised finish.
The only other thing i did tonight was Fit the front sway bar. The brackets weren't nice so i tidied them up too.
Befores and afters...

Suspension
Before:
Rubbed Down:
Red oxide:
Painted
The front arms aren't painted yet, the red oxide is hardening. To be honest the front didn't need anything done its some how in greta condition. :O
Will go back up tomorrow to finish that off and get to work on the rest of the car :D

Some better pictures today. All four arches sealed, and brakes rebuilt on the front. Sway bars fitted but no endlinks need to get coilovers in first for that.
Mazda protection...
My protection
Fumes were crazy
ALso painted gauge pod and got it fitted.
And changed the panel in my tunel to something a bit nicer. Switch for bottle heater, nos and engine start
Then had alok at sump i really doubt its fixable, any ideas ?
heres me from when my jumper caught fire :D

Ordered mykit today
Its a full INGS+! kit, itll be the first full kit in the uk as far as i can tell. And the first in blue in the uk incase someone has got one :P Only think i havent been able to find is the bigger lip spoiler yet. Its shipped so is on route.
To celebrate i ordered 4x20mm hubcentric spacersl. Just decideing what coilovers to get and ill order them during the week.
My throwout bearing, braided brake lines, bottle heater and nitrous gauge are all on the way from america. So the only thing to do is get some strut bars and a turbo kit :D

Had the tunnel plastics wrapped in carbon fibre so i could see how good the guy is...
My stuff arrived from america so i got all the braided lines fitted
Old and new...
My throw out/release bearing what ever you want to call it came also. ...
My god the difference between the two are unreal. The OEM mazda one is thin, lightweight and pulls apart in your hand. The BHR heavy duty one, which was so highly recommended i waited a month for it to come )(i did get it for free though)
here they are side by side
I should have taken a picture of the back, but on the original the bearing just pulls apart but on the BHR one it is pressde together, the other main difference is that the BHR uses all metal parts
So then i thought id take a better look at this sump. couple of things were stopping me refusing it.
1. Removing the sump plug, i finally did this, who ever put it on last has torque it on and not replaced the washer so it was a night mare to get off. I heated it up with the heat gun hammer a 18mm spanner on (19mm nut) and eventually it came.
2. It bent coming off....lol well hammer, spanners, flat metal objects and a heat gun soon sorted it. ]
3. the rust, and it is bad still dont know what to do with it.
The red circlues indicate where oil is coming through
started cleaning up seals too
also ordered some BC racing Coilovers, will take about two weeks to come
Few updates:
Gearbox in at long last
Get the shades on, sump covered in alot of red oxide and i let this dry long time :D i really plastered it on.
My spacers which dont fit. Centre bore 73, 20mm spacer for sale £100 for four
my car looking sorry for itself
You guys are right, its something i will look into.
Today's doings:
I've had a really really bad day. The car has a fault. ACC circuit is dead. Drivers side window doesnt work but passenger side does. The side lights and interior lights don't work but full beam, indicators and dipped lights work. hazard lights work but audio system and ac doesnt. I had feared i had drilled through a wiring loom. Before today i had checked all fuses and everything was fine.
so i stripped to dash out inorder to remove the air conditioner blower unit.
I finally got behind it and everything is intact. Im at my wits end, i need a list of relays to check them now.
I dont know what else it could be, is everything wired through the ecu? Ideas?
I also painted some wheels for track days

Going to get a price for works tomorrow morning. quite a long list of what needs done :S
Coilovers arrived, fully adjustable
and new spacers 20 and 25mm
More progress tonight, dismantled coilover and copper greased threads, then fitted, along with spacers and anti roll bar links. drop it down. it was very low. had problems getting jack out from car, had to resort to jacking the sub frame up (thanks biby)
non of the coilovers are adjusted, yet the car can go alot lower

I actually saw a WB with UK tags at Nurburgring about a year ago and it had the full INGS kit and the wing too. I don't have any pics of the car but I passed him on the track so its on one of my videos somewhere.

cars lookin great man, you got alot done with the car. the economy in the UK must be alot better then it is here, cuz I couldnt afford to do even 5% of the stuff you got done, let alone in that timeframe. Big props dude
