RX8 in racer!

It's not done yet, but it's playable. Haha, check me out going 225. Grr, but also that's km/h not mph. It can probably go like 250 km/h or a bit more, ran out of road to drive. :D

P.S. this was in 5th gear. :p

Umm, thats for the game, and u install cars one by one later. There is RX8 available for download on their forums. Or I can just send u if you want when you've got the game.

I assume those gauges are showing an automatic right hand drive vehicle. Do some of the actual cars have date and time showing as depicted?

Those look like the gauges on my RX8 screen saver- once the computer kicks into SS mode, the tach moves like it's going thru the gears, and the time and date are shown. My SS also has the auto gear selection lights in combination with the MT tach range... I wonder if the guys who made this game also made the SS for Mazda... or just swiped it

I got the car loaded but there is no color all the cars are jet black and hard to see. Is there anyway to fix that?

Also do you need to have a super fast computer to play this? My frame rate is so low that you can't even play it. I am not very computer literate, just want to play the game.

Yea, you would have to have a good graphics card at least. Guys, about tach and speedo, it has date and auto gear lights because some parts were taken from auto and some from MT. hehe. car is pretty cool though.

Run the config program and tell it where it should be expecting you to give it commands from. I set mine to keyboard.

Up arrow = Forward
Down arrow = brakes
Left arrow = go left
Right = go right
A = shift up
Z = shift down

1 - 5 goes through camera angles, and the numpad will rotate the camera. There is an overhead chopper view, too.

F3 seemed to pull up some console and I got to record me as I drove. But beware! This thing will take screenshots every 1.5 seconds and could fill up a hard drive fast.

btw- to make the car go you can edit the .ini files. I am using the keyboard on my mac and I had to edit the files by hand. There is no config program.

Some complaints about this prog:

1) The RX-8 I downloaded does not tell the speed... slightly annoying. I was thinking about editing the files to make it work...

2) The person that wrote the code for the Vette must have been smoking something... it is impossible to move that car in the program without leaving rubber... I know the Vette is fast but someone apparently thinks the laws of physics do not apply to Chevy.

Other than that this thing rocks for a free prog. The squeeling tires for slow turns is a little annoying.... And what is with all the body roll on the 8?

Umm, about RX8 not showing speedo, Unzip the files in the attachment and add all of them in that RX8 folder. Umm, you're going to have to replace one of those.

Also about vette, you gotta have steering wheel and pedals so that you can start slowly and stuff. When you use keyboard, it's like when you hit the gas hard from start. Racer is one of the most realistic games about driving. But it's moer fun driving slower and less powerful cars anyways. Vette sucks. RX8 is very nice.
