Thanks - I keep my thumbs on TOP of the wheel. Habbit I picked up learning to drive off road...the idea was a sudden rut might grab the tires, spin the wheel, and break one's thumbs in the cross pieces of the wheel.

not sure where I said that - but I sort of agree. I'm NOT a photographer in the 'real sense'. I 'take pictures'. It's luck and a VERY small degree of 'vision'.

Thanks though.. Really.

you have some serious talent. i know money kinda 'disrupts' the passion found in the art, but you really could make some money to at least offset costs for camera lenses/replacements/repairs...

not to mention car modding funds!

anyway, i think you have skills that you should really think about developing towards their potential. not that you need to develop the skills really, but actually allowing yourself to make something out of what you have, if you haven't already. i don't know you at all, so certainly take all this with a grain of salt, but nonetheless i am extremely impressed.

:D I was hoping somebody would ask.

I took one pic, holding the camera w/ my right hand, as close as I could to my chest - about collar bone level. Then, As carefully as I could I swapped hands and held the shot w/ my left. then I used PS to combine both pics.

Zaglo - that means SO much to me. I really DO appreciate your comments. I simply have no MARKET. Who would pay for pics of their car like this? Board member dv/dt and I have chatted on occasion about doing posters for people, or other photographic work, but we really don't know where to start.

I'd LOVE to fly in to meets and such, and take photos of club members' cars and such. I'd even figured if, say 20 car owners pitch in $20 each, and it'd cover my airfare to most places. Problems however - what if a particular owner doesn't get his or her $20-worth? What if I can't find a good shot for their particular car? See, I can't guarantee anything because my shots are so dependant upon random thoughts and visions for photos as I just happen to drive around. I suppose I could take a couple/three people at a time and just wing-it for donations? I dunno. I have gone out and taken pics of large-groups of cars while on the highways - zooming ahead to position myself as they drove by. Having a partner would allow us to leap-frog along a specific route I suppose.

I'd LOVE to to find a way to make a little mod-money, or maybe start a 'braces-fund' for my kids. I simply don't even know where to start.

Dude - It's luck to a point. I mean, I took 12 pics tonite. THREE were even passable. I know I could get 'real' photographers who'd probably pick them apart. But...ya know? F'em. I shoot pics for 'normal' people to enjoy. :D

See above - $400 Canon S2 IS

Instead of flying anywhere, just take pictures at local events or set up photo shoots. Then post the proofs on a website and allow owners to buy prints, or the picture in digital format.

When you get more comfortable in guaranteeing results, then maybe try travelling to shoots.

BTW, GREAT CAMERA!
