I'm glad someone brought that up. It bugs me when people try to quote a crank number from a chassis dyno. It just doesn't work and chances are doesn't even get close.

I don't understand why people always have the camera man in the SLOWER car when they film these videos. The slower car should not have the extra weight in it...the faster car should.

my mechanic told me that the lost is not linear and not a fixed number.

It was mesured by putting the car into neutro after the pull and let it roll until it stops, then you mesure the counter force that the transmition make and add that number to the wheel numbers.
That way you get an aprox. number on the crank. the only diference is that you don't mesure the 5th gear "weight" but it's almoust 1:1 rate. so it's not much diference than the gear box in neutro.

I think it would be cool to see a nitrous 8 vs a turbo 8. That would be a nice camparison. I am curious at how far off using nitrous is than let's say a Greddy turbo kit. Doesn't seem like there would be a big difference, but I guess we'd have to see.

Easy outcome - the Turbo 8 would SMOKE the N2O 8, if the race lasted more than about 90 seconds...

Looks like 130 km/hour. Was that a cop ahead of you? What was he doing? Giving you an escort?

if he is rolling out with that much to the rear wheels, the z is over in my opinion.

i have never seen a z on the "track" so not sure for me, i am probably around 245-260 rw, i am still running the emanage, interceptor is in the living room floor though, so soon enough i will have something worth tuning and dynoing. i know mine is fast as h*ll though, well was, before i busted the throttle body with a overboost

Before you did what?
You do realize that is the same TB that they are using on the Mustang, right?
There are people putting 20+ PSI through that thing with no issues. Of all the things you can break, the throttle body is the least likely. In fact, you are more likely to crack the upper intake manifold before you damage the TB.
So, what are the symptoms? What has led you to this conclusion? Pics? Did you strip the stepper or actually bend the butterfly?

the head mazda tech here ran all the tests on it and said all the values for the tp sensors and ap sensors are off plus you can hear the iac chirping.

idle was at 1500 and jumping to 2000, running really rich when driving, used a 1/4 of a tank of gas in about 25 miles, misses under a load, fouling plugs.

they think it jumped the stepper motor teeth, i dunno, the boost gauge only said like 9.5 psi, but it was pretty much vacuum then 9.5 psi, the turbo i am running hits full boost with the lightest pressure on the accelator.

had a thread about it, for those who blew an engine, i wondered where ya were back then, i wanted your advice

this make sense?

I'm always here - you can always e-mail me.
The likelyhood that 10 PSI will cram the TB butterfly is pretty slim. Maybe the IAC. I don't know. I'll have to take mine apart sometime.
However, try pushing it with your finger sometime. 10 psi is about the same as the pressure you would exert to ring a doorbell.

i don't like to post videos at high speed at open roads

if it's a problem please be free to delete it.

here is another comparo, a highly tuned WRX (unichip+boost 14psi+invidia exhaust... up pipe; downpipe, catless mid pipe, etc... note that the subaru's sound is a lot higher that the catless turbo rx8.)

before someone asks the engine check lite flashes. it reads misfire when the cars runs WOT. but no other error now.

The Wrx hits gas first. I WASNT at 9psi on this video. I've seen this subaru smoking a light Tuned Evo VII.

And someone asked if my car can keep up against an tuned Z. If it's not a Turbo/nitro etc Z .... it's simply not a race.

Video here.

I don't have a compraro against the 357bhp. Now i am on evo's and wrx league!
330 whp with Greddy unit??? That is freaking awesome
I'm not too sure about sti's but I'm sure that a 330whp rx8 will put up a really nice fight against evo IX's with Turboback exhaust, boost controller, and tune.
There was another IX with dp, stock cat, catback, boost controller, tune that made 340whp or so. Congratulations!! That thing must be a beast.
Now its time to put my mods on...

That thing would whoop up on a stock sti. Stock STI's are only 300hp at the engine so I would guess 250hp at the wheels. Plus the 8's extra rev range helps since you can hold gears longer.
