Hey... I have an idea!!!!

Lets take two comparable cars, one with 60 more HP than the other, and race them UP a mountainside! Yeah.. That'll be pretty even!!!!!

Pfft.

They should have also raced DOWN the mountainside, or at least done a flat-track comparison. I am guessing this test was concocted by someone who really likes the 350Z.

In retrospect, it is actually quite telling that the RX was only a few car lengths behind at the finish (essentially the same number of car lengths it was behind into the first turn). I would have expected the Z with 15% more horsepower to be a little further ahead.

It was really hard to understand some of it at the end. Mumbling and all. Of course, the Z is going to power past the 8.

I agree that a downhill portion needed to be included as well. What goes up must come down.

The Z looked like a handfull to drive as most reviewers continue to state.

Hahaha. The Z also costs about $8-$10k more! Can't really compare pistons to rotors...it's like apples and oranges. Sure the 8's got less power--about 50-60Hp less--but it's also got 1/2 the displacement, Back Seats, a SUNROOF, 4 doors, about 2 extra air bags, etc. Hahaha,

Did I see the same vid? The 8 was declared the winner!

The Z was faster only once they shifted into 3rd on the straights, otherwise the reviewers preferred the 8, said it was quicker in the handling section.

Sorry but which dumbass post that comment to answer the "new rx7s?!" questions? the one tha posted "rx8"?! the rx8 has nothign to do witht eh rx7, its not a lil bother (or sister which ever you want to call it) of the rx7. theya re not related (theyre not meant to be either) since they are two completely different cars. apples and oranges... i hate it when they say the rx8 is the new rx7.

Oh, on youtube.

Yea, the rx8 is no rx7. A lot of people here also think just because it has a rotary, it's the rx7 heir.

Z dont cost 8-10k more, base Z cost $27,650 and the base 8 cost $27,030. I have a brand new 350z enthusiast before and i only paid 29,900 out the door. The price is about the same.

I was expecting the z to be faster in the drag race, in fact the rx-8 was in front till they shift to 3erd, a little more agresive 3er and 20 more hp and the race would have beeng really diferent

20hp more for the rx8 will not be enough to be able to keep up witht he 350z.

Show me one person walking off the lot today paying that for a base 8. Mine was about 23K. Maybe not 8-10K but certainly not apples for apples.

If you watch the whole video at the end the commentator mentions that he cant wait to see the new RX7...I believe that is what everyone was refering to.

New Zealand's very own HIGH OCTANE OVERBOOST -2004

The hill scene is pretty close the RX catching in the corners.. pretty even,
In the drag RX 1st & 2nd gear and then the Z pulls away when they hit 3rd understandable..

all in all pretty matched.. with 2 extra seats and the share uniqueness Id way rather have the RX8!!
They also take the veilside 8 for a drive in this dvd and a little skid haha.

If you ever get a chance to watch this dvd take it, Its the best ive ever seen.. There latest is High Octane DETONATE, and apparently they will be making a movie next.. cant wait!

And yes mr ketzel was talking about a 7 as in a RX7 not 8..
There was newz that a new one was on its way thats the last ive ever heard about it... this was way back in 03. -Thats not the spirit R is it ?

How are they going to race in the damn rain with wet roads. Neither car did what it is capable of doing. Idiots.
