All, a new version of the app has been placed in the store last night. Interestingly enough today I got a notice from Google stating that the application was flagged as a violation. I am going to review the email to see what is going on. Stay tuned.

 

Loving the update so far! One obvious issue that I can see at the moment is if a member who does not have a profile picture quotes a member with a profile picture, their (empty) profile picture slot is replaced with the profile picture of the member being quoted.

Sorry if that's hard to understand. I'm on a bid that's in the middle of breaking down.

 

That part is consistent, but I'm also seeing randomly swapped profile pictures.

Well this is a load of crap. Looks like the app has been removed, what a disservice. I filed for an appeals and it was almost instantly rejected. Seems that Google uses an AI to rummage through apps and find violations ... unfortunately they are completely unfounded on this one. No way to figure out exactly what the fault is either.



I'm really sorry guys. I would love to redeploy this app, but I am not sure what the violation is so I dont want to risk getting my account suspended.

 

I was looking for it a few hours ago, and couldn't find it by searching, even in "MyApps" when i clearly had it still installed. I figured it might have been unpublished from the issue they had with it.

 

Trying to get some answers from /r/androiddev , looks like this is "common".

App just got flagged (after 2+ years)..can't figure out why!?!? : androiddev

 

At least the last version is stable...

It sucks that I can't be in the play store anymore. Can you have it push a notification when there's an update (and when there's a new PM in ones inbox)?

 

I think i figured out the issue. Looks like google took exception to me having a 'donate' button in the preferences. Surprising it took 2 years and an immediate suspension. I'll work tonight on getting it back up in the playstore. Sorry for the total inconvenience guys

All, due to some semantics with the way the application was listed, Google has forced me to rename the RX8Club.com forum application after 2+ years and 1800+ downloads. I have appreciated all of the support for the application and have received emails from concerned users who thought that the application was no longer being developed. No worries to all as I will continue to develop this app. If you currently have the original application involved, please try the following steps:
1. Open application
2. Open Preferences
3. Click Clear Cache
4. Uninstall application
You should then be able to find the new app in the Google Play store. If your devices are sync'd, you should also be able to install from the following location: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details…

Downloaded and installed.

It loads WAY faster, so that is good.

I like the menus, the subtle buttons at the top and the larger slide out menu to the left.

I am crashing every time on preference -> thread filter. I reported it, let me know if you want a log.

Great news!

The weirdness with profile pictures is fixed now. There are two issues I'm running into right now.

a) The keyboard (I use swype) is pulled up when any action is preformed in the app, like pressing buttons, threads, etc...

b) When I type anything into a reply box (for threads as well as PMs) the "Sorry, can't submit blank post" message appears, and the text that I've entered isn't posted.

 

Thanks for reporting this. Sorry I haven't gotten to it earlier but I will take a look next.

Current features in beta

Completely revamped the way thread content is displayed. Using a new renderer so the formatting of text (i.e. quotes), and the formatting of images will be a lot cleaner

What you will need to do once you download -> Go to the preferences, and make sure you set the appropriate options for Font Size and Embedded Image Size.

 

All I have to say is this... **** google's developer portal. Honestly, I am a complete advocate for google and supported it 100% over iCrap... but this is just absolute bullshit.

I filed an appeals, but i expect its going to get rejected since i hear the entire process is AI controlled.

I'll publish my latest update here... i was really excited because I really improved the speed and the display of thread content and am eager for you guys to use it and would hate for that work to go to waste.

Moving forward though I dont know how what I'm going to do, such a blow to morale

 

I do know there's way to still share the app through the web. You could host it as a download and people could still install it as long as you still have it in.. .apk?.. I think? Don't quote me on that. But that way you can still share it without going through the Play Store.

Sounds like the play store is kinda like eBay now.. I just sold my iPhone on ebay to some girl. Two weeks later she drops and smashed the screen then claims the phone is not working 100% as described in the original eBay post. She started a claim and within 5 minutes the automated system "sided with the buyer". I called eBay, but since she bought the shipping label on the website she instantly gets her money back.. and I get a smashed phone. Ain't that some ****.
