Eventhough he launched late - at the peak of the race... the civic walked away from him.
You could tell he was trying because he did switch lanes to go after the civic.

fact of the matter - that civic won. no need to make execuses.

believe it or not... there are some really fast civics out there. I dont think this one in the clip is all that fast, but it was fast enough to win.

I believe the rx8 was a manual - notice that when the brakes are let off the car doesn't go forward right away.

Its all wrong guys the guy in the rx8 was trying so very hard but he forgot to close his sunroof and the extra drag made him too slow for the civic... lol j/p but seriously maybe he was just a law abiding citizen who doesnt condone street raciing and the civic was just showing off.

I have to agree with the other....two(?).. people that said the guy in the 8 was trying to race the Civic. It's not the only video of an 8 I've seen lose to a Civic.

Oh well..it's still a civic.

You don't know **** about Civics (look up the suspension layout) or which cars handle and which ones don't if you make a statement like that.

Man, I know this is an RX8 board but that RX8 was racing and got beat. Period.

Yes, that Civic was a piece of **** which is why it makes the beating so bad. Who cares if the RX8 was an auto or this or that. I have been beat by several Civics at the track and my CRX would destroy my RX8, so what..... Excuses, excuses.

BTW, i love my 8, but alot of the owners here seem to have their heads very far up their a*sses. Your stock RX8 is NOT FAST in the straights. And their are some very well tuned very fast civics out there. There are also very well tuned very fast RX8s out there.

Point being - stop hating on all civics if you dont know what your talking about.

being local, you'll probably appreciate this story...

i was at a local meet here on the north shore with some FCs, FDs, RX8s, and a lot of DSMs, and some domestics.
Some jack *** pulls up in his red car, does donughts right in front of us, and then drives off. Pretty much like this video.
Oh and the guy who did it, was driving an RX8. I dont think he saw the other rotarys at the meet. Point being... we have a lot of stupid f*cking owners as well.

That is funny. My best friend is a Porche mechanic and lives in Hawaii Kai and he told me the other day that he and his buds had a meet (VW club) and some dude in a C5 Vette kept messing with thim while they were cruising near the Sandy beach area. My friends GTI runs 11's and would likely smoke that Vette but they just ignored him.

Yeah seen it before, the Veyron is just disgusting fast.
Oh and for the lights being all funky like that... Its because the camera cannot catch the LED's fast enough so they look odd like that. Or something to that affect. But wow it is a quick car.

As for this 8 getting spanked by a civic... I have a few friends that mod the hell outa there civics and they are real fast as well. But to me at the end of the day its still a civic.
