I'll throw down $ 200 for a used welder, I'm sure we can find one for $500 or so, Austin has the tanks so we should be good.

I have everything but tanks for oxyacetylene....that mig isnt too bad, I think DC found a used Miller for sale. If we are going to consider making anything that requires significant strength on heavy guage stuff that welder will not cut the mustard...I think we should consider at least a 150amp mininum

Yea I was thinking tig I want to weld a whole bunch of **** not just steel.

I think we should practice on the CRX weld a hood scoop on dat ***.

miller dynasty 250dx and call it a day. Only machine you would ever need for home use and light industrial.

How did the motor end up looking

well nothing "catastrophic"....there was 1 sliver of metal, some weird gouges on the outside of the front iron and most importantly poorly cut side-seals.

we shall see what comes of it

I just want to know what that marking is! it looked crazy. maybe from things being to loose and not tight enough. maybe enough to let things move around a bit?

That is a weird gouge....seems to be right where the housing o-ring grove sits on the iron??
