I was on my way home and for once not speeding or doing anything stupid and sure enough an animal jumps right in my way... I try to avoid him and still rammed him with my front passenger side, here are the pics of what happened.







i'm furious... i have a 1k duductable and don't know what i should do. Am I almost better off getting a new body kit for the front end? The car was looking sooooo good lately... here are a few more recent shots.

That's a lot of damage from a racoon..
OEM through insurance will be expensive so you should be better off using forum vendors and fixing it yourself.

It could have been a lot worse for me but at the same time it's not something really minor so i just don't know what to do. I've been looking at lips but that price with the wait and shipping costs I feel like i'm almost better off getting a whole new front bumper, fender, and mud guards. My pictures didn't even show what happened to those things hahah

This kind of **** makes me want to just total this car instead of dealing with petty little things like this.

 

with a 1k deductible, sounds like body kit time.. can get a decent fiberglass kit for 1k painted WB.

it suck to be you!! I say body kit time!!! Don't use insurance cause they screwed me over!! I got Nation Wide, and they said they couldnt do water sanding near my fogs!! So my front bumper is all rough!! So if you do use them watch over them cause they will hit you with just a lot of blah blah...

I could be wrong, but it looks like you just need to replace the undertray and air dam. There's a new WB air dam on ebay right now for $225. I'm sure you could get an undertray from Mazmart, they usually sell them for $100. That's a lot cheaper than an aftermarket bodykit.

well it was just the perfect end to my day yesterday haha

anyways... It's not just the front air dam which I had hoped, my clear corner on that side is shot, somehow my front mud guard is fucked as well, and the bumpers whole underlay and parts of the middle are cracked which I didn't even realize until today.

I think I might just get the mazdaspeed kit. Seems cost effective considering this crap

thats rough id look into getting the car appraised before you do anything...if it appraises at less than a k then dont call insurance.

btw my side marker occasionally blinks out, a nice forceful fonz punch to it though gets it going. As is the case with most personalized mechanical devices its fun to get them to work by hitting them.

get a buddy club front end!

or try to get the under carriage off one of the several parts cars in the parts section. and buy a new front lip from azpartsexpress (ebay seller, cheap, good). if you do the work yourself, and its just a few screws, it might run you $300 total.
