Splish, splash
Just a few shots of my new (to me) RX-8 at a local car control clinic I instructed at with the Audi club (I come from the Audi universe). I had a blast thrashing my new RWD toy on the wet skid-pad and road course. My wife (also an instructor) took these photos

I like the car so far Just need to figure out what the exhaust is, and figure out some way to upgrade the head unit firmware since mazdaparts.com seems to be defunct.

I don't think so... I was being rather abusive as far as primary & secondary weight transfer and left foot braking, so the car looks about like what I'd expect the suspension feels fine, actually (though I'll know for sure when I get it to the track). The car could use a little less body roll (though it feels like both of the RX-8s I've driven at the track) but I wouldn't want to make it oversteer any more; it's nicely balanced as best I can tell.

the exhaust is part of the engines breathing system. figure the engine is a modified air pump, exhaust is the part that is like the engines exhale or final stage in physical respiration. also part of the fuel control (02 sensors) and emissions control ( catalytic converter) as well as sound suppression (muffler) systems of the modern EPA compliant vehicle system.
or more officially
1. a. The escape or release of vaporous waste material, as from an engine.
b. The fumes or gases so released.
2. A duct or pipe through which waste material is emitted.
3. An apparatus for drawing out noxious air or waste material by means of a partial vacuum.
