Stock Cat vs MazSport's Dual Resonated Mid-Pipe

Here is my video comparing the stock cat and MazSport's Dual Resonated Mid-Pipe!
http://www.vimeo.com/1326237

Once the heat shield is repaired, I'll add an idle/revving and a drive-by to the video.
Enjoy!

UPDATE: I posted a lower resolution version in case some of you have issues playing it:

Yes... it is louder than stock, but quieter than my old AP single resonator mid-pipe.
Plus, its got a deeper tone unlike the AP which was a high annoying pitch.

Let me know if some of you have trouble viewing this.
It's a large video file and streaming it might cause playback issues on some people's computers.
I'm creating a lower resolution video just in case.

UPDATE: Created lower res version and added it to the first post!

Nice video and setup. I have the full Agency Power exhaust and the loudness is too much, I like it but cops don't, so I am thinking of adding the Apexi exhaust control valve after the midpipe.

I thought about using a control/butterfly valve setup.
I thought those were intended for exhausts that are fabricated with multiple outlets.
Meaning, with the valve closed, the exhaust gases run through the cat and out the back like a normal setup.
When the value is opened (which is installed before the cat) the air now can travel through open pipes (and usually out the side of the car).
Not sure what the affects will be by placing it after the midpipe and completely controlling the amount of air flow exiting the exhaust.

"The APEXi Exhaust Control Valve (ECV) controls the amount of exhaust flow from an exhaust muffler and thus varies the loudness of the exhaust volume. The ECV is installed after the catalytic converter in a vehicle's exhaust system. It can easily reduce the exhaust loudness level by a maximum of 10dB by varying the butterfly valve in the ECV. With the ECV, you can now maximize a high performance car potential; be it driving in urban areas, at night, or in areas with strict sound emission laws, just by varying the butterfly valve opening in the ECV.

All these adjustments can be done in the cockpit on the fly by wire controls of the ECV. The butterfly valve can be controlled in real time while driving either with the valve in fully opened, fully closed, or partially opened position. Before the invention of the APEXi ECV, exhaust sound levels could only be controlled by using different inner silencers in an exhaust muffler. These inner silencers require vehicle down time to install, dismantle, and re-install to achieve similar performance levels of the ECV. "

Sorry for the large post

This might be a dumb question but will the Dual Resonated Mid-Pipe pass emissions?

Interesting.... thanks for the info!
If you do go through with installing the APEXi ECV, keep us posted!

This might be the stupidest question ever...but who would ever want the valve fully closed? Wouldn't that just shut off the exhaust flow and build back pressure? Jon can attest that I am no car genius...so can someone help this dumbass out? Iz confuzzled.

I don't know more info about this valve but I believe that the fully closed is translated as 70-80% closed or something. I cannot believe that there's a possibility it blocks the pipe 100%. I may try it, if anyone has any experience on this kind of valves please post.

Good vid, but it almost seems that all of the audio is louder with the mid-pipe segment. Meaning not only the sound from the pipe itself.

No settings were changed between the two videos and the tripod is mounted pretty much in the same place.
Only encoding to the videos were done with the final product.
Maybe because the mid-pipe segment was taking early in the morning so the highway wasn't as loud and other noises became louder/more noticeable.
