How those basics holdin up?

 

Basics are FANtastic - easily the best mod I've made

 

hah be careful you have a silver - and with that fog in the background i can BARELY see your car.... its dissappearing into the backgroud, ahhhh! im going to hit it ahhh! *crash* Curse of the silver.

heh j/k - looks good man - i got my BB straked and lowered with the full mazdaspeed suspension. Makes me want to do hand party over the way my car looks.

What's the "For Sale" story Darin? Why? What cha getting?

 

I'm still on the fence - not with what I want to replace the car, but if I really wanna sell. This car is plain to inconsistant for my tastes. Asked last week I would have said I'm 90% going to sell! Today though, the engine in my car felt GREAT! It's got me questioning whether or not I want to get rid of it - ESPECIALLY now that the car only needs black non-polished-lip rims to be Complete.

Anywho - I'm shopping audis.

But won't sell my car unless I got offered the right deal...so - yeah, in no hurry to sell I suppose, but would if things worked out.

Make sense? barely does to ME even

 

Sounds like a good case of boredom to me... (... been there, done that, got the teeshirt, washed the car with it, then burned it.... ) Bummer too - after you just put a lot of money into it

 

It's not boredom - it's inconsistancy. If the car would run +/- the same, each time I drove it, it'd be a great car.

(shrug) I don't get bored from my cars - I always have a hard time letting go. This car will be no different. This car always has something wrong with it. It's either 'needing to go in for a fix' or it's 'just having come back'. Be those fixes tiny - like ECU flashes, or huge like clogged cats/engine replacement/whatever. If I could get ONE good engine that would run like it's supposed to 'every' time I start the car, I'd keep this car awhile.

That car SURE LOOKS HOT...

During the drive for these pics, w/ my family (2 kids, wife), the car felt mostly gutless. NO faster than my old Probe GT - stock.

 

I think your car has an evil twin...with a shitty motor....that trades for your car every once in a while...just to F**K with your mind.

Since the oil filler replacement...mine has probably run the best it ever has. That stupid chirping noise when the SSV opens is gone...and it is a lot smoother.

My warranty is up in about 500 miles.....I have been checking everything and getting the little crap fixed....the dealership is being awesome. They are fixing everthing that I complain about pretty much.

I got a 1/2 tank of crap gas the other night. The car ran like **** til I burned it off with a little methyl hydrate and a good hot run

 

Ya know, Dan - I think you're right! Btw - today I noticed a 'whirring' or 'chirping' noise.

Nice looking car the strakes really add something. I just put clear corners and strakes on mine. I saw base decals on the window. What base or post do you work on?

Yup. I'm having a hard time over-looking the '****' aspects of the car. If I wanted a car just for driving around, the rx8 would be coo'...but for 'performance' it's still 'iffy'.
