Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get my hands on a torque wrench to undo the upper control arm. Did you do the install yourself Aipex8?
Yes I did, using the following DIY thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ght=tokico+diy

While I was installing Tokico shocks at the same time, the basics of this DIY should work for removing and reinstalling the shock/spring assembly regardless of brand (including springs on the stock shocks). I suggest following this DIY to the letter for best result. The trick is leaving the car on jack stands and using a hydrolic jack to load the suspension while the car is still in the air (as apposed to putting the car on the ground and then trying to get under it to tighten down the bolts). As soon as I took the car off the jack stands it looked like the pic I posted (if it "settled" it was only a mm or two).

Wow that's F-d up. Here's mine on Teins. We preloaded the front as spec'd. Don't really need a torque wrench.

^ exactly how mine looks. +1 for no need for a torque wrench, just loosen the correct 2 bolts on each side, lower the car onto its tires completely, and reach in and tighten the bolts, hell i doubt a torque wrench could even fit back there with the tires mounted and the car on the ground.

the car looks great now, i've always liked the amount of drop the s-techs gave

not too much to scrape everywhere but not too high to still look good
