I absolutely LOVE the SLR. i have been complaining about laggy digital cameras for years now lol. Very rarely do I see a bad / blurry shot with it, but im still learning all of its functions, settings, ect. I picked it up as a deal from Amazon.com from a company Beach Cameras. It came with two len's but we're researching more =)

I have the same SLR, love it! wait till you see what you can do with it, zoom and editing on the go is fun. I have 2 lens, the stock 18-55mm and the 55-200mm, as well if you go to Nikons website they break down the lens' as to zoom range etc.. and they can cost ya lol..
i just havent had it out and charged up, with all the rain would love to get some pics of the 8 with it.
Your shots turned out great, grab some extra batterys and a 16gig class 4 or better and you'll never look back.

desperate need of a drop!! it's nice to see some people getting into photography!! i have a d90. if you're looking for lens, it really depends on what kinds of things you're looking to shoot. imo a nikon 17-55 F/2.8 would be a great walk around lens. zoomed all the way out you can get a nice wide angle for any automotive photography and it has a perfect zoom capability for portrait pictures. just my two cents on that.

Nice camera, almost bought that one myself. I choose the Canon version only because I felt it had better specs and ease of use through the menu system.
Invest in a good quality circular polarizer filter. I have a B&W triple coated and it does wonders for shooting cars!

i hear you on the rain, thats all it done on the east coast and im getting sick of "april showers bring may flowers" i just want some warm sunshine lol..
I bought two batterys with mine, and with the 16gig card its 858 photos with a raw and a jpg copy (i think will have to grab it and double check) took some good photos at Pocono Raceway last year so cant wait to get something with some more zoom heh.

Pics look good. As Alt. said, polarizing filters are a must for shooting cars. I highly recommend one.
My next lens will be a 50mm prime. Great for shooting cars, portraits, low light and shallow depth of field shots. If you have the cash, get the 50mm f1.4. It's an amazing lens. Nikon also makes a cheaper 50mm f1.8 that gets great reviews. Since the 3000/5000 series don't have an internal focus motor, check for autofocus compatibility between the two.
I'm hoping to pick one up before deals gap at the end of the month. I'll probably go with the f1.8 for now and upgrade later when i move up from my aging D50.

I really want a 17-30something lense
I took this with my 50-250mm
I bought my camera from my sister she upgraded to the mark 2, but she got ride of the 18-55 lens before I got the camera she said it produced pixelated pictures cuz the camera sensor is too good for the lenses glass
