Time Lapse Engine Removal and Tear Down
Here's my first attempt at some time-lapse photography.
We removed the engine this weekend and tore it down. We're putting another engine in next weekend. This is a high-mileage car - 170k miles.

Here's the next two:
Putting all the stuff back on the new motor http://youtu.be/Ao-Dudanvck
Putting the new motor back in the car http://youtu.be/fujukDghA00
One more Saturday to finish. We didn't quite get there. Had to break it off early for a Halloween Party

No real pointers. It's all about luck. There's no real skill involved. Make sure your clutch is lined up with the pilot shaft hole in the flywheel. Check it visually twice. Do it the first time, then rotate the flywheel and do it again. Doing it this way reduces parallax errors from head/eyeball/clutch/hole alignment.
It's all about patience and doing the wiggly jiggly. On this motor, we decided to make a couple of minor adaptations to RR's procedure in the sticky. We bolted the a/c compressor on while the motor was still hanging and not connected to the tranny. This was a lot easier than trying to pull it out of the way and bolt it on after. We also installed the exhaust manifold after the motor was mated back up to the tranny. It's like the horseshoe puzzle with the exhaust manifold and the motor mounts, but it worked out easier, I think.
Also, make the plane of the tranny flange parallel to the rear of the motor before you begin wiggling and jiggling.
Good Luck!
