Time to start modding new car...

Got a 04 in Black on Black couple months ago... What are some of the first thing people change on these?? And don't say strakes and clear corners.

I'd like to swap in the red leather seat and doors, any idea where I can get them?

I started on the fiberglass box in the trunk anyone try the new Alpine unit that lets you control Ipod from the Nav screen?

Welcome to the addiction

Get the AFE short shifter. That is the first thing that should be done.

Then maybe an exhaust for sound, some springs to get rid of that wheel gap, and some super sticky rubber.

My opinion,

1)Springs
2)Clear corners (yeah i said it cuz its so true)
3)Tint

All pretty cheap and when all completed they make a world of diff cosmetically.

Then....
4)Appearance package (if dont already have)
5)Exhaust
6)Wheels/Tires

Where can I pick one of those up cheap? How is it to install? Fairly easy I'm assuming. Big difference?

Unfortunately I can't really enjoy springs where I'm from.... last time I did that on my eclipse my car scraped and bumped all over the place, New England roads suck...

I'd like to put some grills in the front and rear... but I don't want to restrict the airflow to the coolers much, and I don't want cheap ones.... anyone know of good grills that work well too??

well, i did an exhaust and tint as the first thing right out of the gate. Tint not only makes the car look better but also keeps it cooler on hot summer days.

Just search for Axial Flow short shifter and you will find everything you need to know about it. I would say 95% of the people who own it, will tell you it is the best mod they have done. It only takes about 30 minutes to install. And you can find them for just around $200.

Don't put grills in, they always make the car look cheap. If you do anything to the bumper, just get the MazdaSpeed body kit, it looks great.

mazdaspeed bodykit is a very good kit and it looks very clean, IMO one of the best kits for the car, i just didnt get it because its a bit too common around socal but I'd recommend it if you wanted to make the car look really good
