Somebody said I should name my car so...

As much money as I'm dumping into this kit, I really don't want to experiment but we'll see how low it is compared to OEM. But I agree it would look better lowered.

The problem is your chassis height and not your wheel gap. 225/40/18's exacerbate this, see about getting some 245/40/18's or even the stock 225/45/18's would be even better, then drop it. Your chassis height will be the same as it is now with a drop and your wheel gap will be diminished.
