Speedsource takes first!!!! Action in all of the 1.5min video

I couldnt record the last 7min of the race (the most exciting), i'll see if i can catch the rebroardcast on wed, but i wont be home until friday, so i gotta find out a way to get someone to set the recorder for me, if not, others please upload it, or send it to me so we can have a collection of all the greatest clips of the speedsource RX-8 in action.

I **might** still have the mexico race at home, if i didnt overwrite the DVD-RAM. Tons of RX-8 clips in that race, so if i still have it, i'll try to pick out the best ones for you guys, and youtube it =).



For your information: The Grand-Am Speedsource is a tube-framed RX-8 with a 3-rotor peripheral port 20B making 425+hp. The car weights 2200lbs.

Actually, after watching the first 2 hrs of the race, that clip is the only* coverage on the RX-8 worth uploading, it was ALL DP action, the GT field probably got close to 3mins in the first 2 hrs.

I havent seen the last 7mins, i am told by other forum members that its the most exciting part. I'll upload it for sure if i can record it.

I don't follow these races, so is the rx-8 in the same class as the 911's? Or are they different?

 

they are, there are only two classes, one is GT (rx-8, porsches), and one called Daytona prototypes, they're weird looking cars, but they're the faster class.

Yes, IMHO, that's the real crapper about these cars. They are not real RX8s. Wrong engine, and it's a tube frame car.

Still fun to watch them beat up on Porsches, though!
