Oh yeah my cousin that recorded that clip said that the first time he took it around the track he couldn't kick it side ways. I guess he had to get the feel for it before he could break it loose.

seams like he is having trouble getting angle. i dont think the rx8 will ever be big in drifting events. thats just my opinion though.

i think the 8 will have a hard time in tandem racing behind a slow car. the 8 was built rotate even at very high speeds without loosing too much grip. without a lot of speed and momentum the 8 has trouble holding high angle drifts for long periods of time. also notice how his car does most of its rotating after the apex. the 8 is probrably the hardest fr car to drift out of all the modern cars without seriouse modification to the rear and steering.

Plus, a stock 8 will have very little torque. From what i understand, most drifting cars have to have the torque. Hence, not too many drifting S2K's either... Someone educate me....

To me its not even a RX-8, to me its still a RX-7. Im waiting on a RX-8 that is in Formula D or D1 that ACTUALLY runs off the Renesis engine the way it was intended. To me that actually what makes it a RX-8. I guess this will have to do for now....

when is this car scheduled to run Formula D/D1GP anyways? it wasnt there last formula D, although it was on show there.
and pirate, the chassis is an RX-8, therefore it is an RX-8, not an RX-7. the chassis makes up the charachteristic of a car more than the engine.
but i still do agree with you strongly on the dissatisfaction, it does not have a renesis so i do not support it whole heartedly, people need to stop being lazy and swapping rx7 engines into them and just develop the RENESIS, because it has just as much potential of the others, in fact its more durable in many aspects. i know for sure my rx8 will have nothing but a renesis in it because the RENESIS is the essence of the RX-8, a revolutionary engine design change that came with a revolutionary body design styling, there for they should stay mated. the FD on the other hand, well i cant say i care too much about keeping a 13b-REW, eventually a 20b will be there haha.
