Midnight blue is a great looking color but it doesn't sound very cost effective to buy a car and then repaint the whole thing. (that won't be cheap)

midnight purple would look better. I don't like that blue...it doesn't do anything for my machismo and the lord of the pelvis.

 

According to the 07 specification thread there will be a dark blue color for the 07 RX8. To answer the orginal question, I don't think it makes much sense to paint over a good paint job. Too many problems and too much money.

I think it will loook really good, but like other stated be to much money. i would buy some mods instead of repaint. but if you have money for both then yep midnght will look pimp.

for me, i think a complete body repaint should be because of serious body work done and it's part of a big repair, or it's because it's time to go nuts and do something totally off-the-wall different. midnight blue is a nice color, but it's very common in the general population. but, u should do what makes u happy.

And, to be honest, at least TRYING to "sound" full-grown helps a LOT.

 

Its your car do what you want to it. Personalize it. If you have the money to blow then do what I told her "blow it"

dont do that..... i had someone on the forum photoshop midnight blue on my car, doesnt look that great. although the purple off mini cooper looks good. if you like blue then why not paint it cobalt blue off porsche? that color looks really good.

oh, one other thing... if u re-paint ur car, it will NEVER smell the same on the inside. that beautiful, new car smell will be forever gone. dunno why, but that's just what happens when u repaint. in fact, some places leave ur car smelling like paint for months... just because of that i would seriously consider NOT repainting unless u have a really good reason to.

 

If you do it, you have to go all out with the best paint and a good clearcoat. None of that $20 maaco crap.
