No need for popcorn. Brettus is not an a-hole like a lot of the other turbo owners
As for my car being on par with his. Maybe now or at 300 hp as he stated, but not 330. It's a whole different animal at 330....
Juan's car is disgustingly sick-fast. That 13.5 doesn't reflect what his car is capable of. He had never drag raced that car before, and he was launching like a grandma because he had no traction. His car can do 12.8s-12.9s with drag radials. I think i'll do the same.
Even after breaking 17,000 miles and dozens of passes on a drag strip, and at least a dozen autocross events, It's still running pretty damned strong.

Londons Yellow Peril
its actually amazing how much improvement can be made at a drag strip with practice by driver with no mods whatsoever!
We did a UK drag run at Rotorstock, and I trapped 107 mph in the Trimar demo supercharged one, but my times were crap cos i did a granny start with no revs! oops. I only had time for 2 runs, and blew a shift in the first one.
But my mate who had a normal car got a massive improvement over the day as he did multiple runs (like 10 or so). His times got way better and were pretty impressive for an NA car by the end of the day. He started with a 16.3 and ended with a 15.7

The car is disgustingly quick now. I was driving back home from picking up some fresh baked bread this morning and decided to take the long way. Let's just say I made myself choke on my own saliva after putting my foot the floor and laughing uncontrollably. The people that were next to me at the following red light must have thought I was insane.
I went over to Juan's house yesterday morning, and spent all of the morning and most of an afternoon listening to testosterone reducing Smooth Jazz 94.1FM. Fortunately we were also installing some headers, some bigger fuel injectors, a bigger crank pulley, and some engine bay bling which sort of helped balance out the testosterone levels a little bit. (Juan's the man, don't let his taste in music fool you)
Now for the pictures!

In summary, the car has been transformed again. The extra power and torque is noticeably higher than before. I guess going from 8-9 PSI to 12-13 PSI would do that. Sorry this last picture's so bad, but the days of being able to hold a camera while driving are over. Unless, I'm feeling suicidal... but life is way too much fun right now![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

At least 40 whp, and a presentable engine bay. Nice!

Very nice Bastage,
I was noticing that your idler pulley is machined alluminum mines is injection molded, I wonder which would be better,,,
Also why did you need to take the entire blower off, couldnt you get to the pulley without taking it off...
And lastly what are you grinding???

Oh...............it wasn't real clear in the verbiage, but I thought he was putting on a new header along with the injectors. (perhaps?)

We took the blower out to clean it up and insulate it with DEI Reflect-A-Cool Heat Protective Sheet.
Juan was grinding the vacuum activator off of the VDI shutter valve. We don't use it so it's just in the way. If you ever upgrade your injectors/pulley, might as well shave that piece off unless you ever intend on going back to stock.

We're going to the track on Friday the 13th

Hopefully we'll break into the 12s.

R.I.P. stock clutch. It was good to me for almost 36,000 miles, and several autocross and drag racing days, but it's dying a slow and painful (for me driving with it anyways) death.
The extra power wreaked havoc on my clutch(getting some major slippage when I mash the throttle), so I will be upgrading to an exedy stage I or II very soon. Might as well put a RB Flywheel in there while we're at it![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Looks like breaking into the 12s in the 1/4 mile will have to wait until I break this clutch in a little bit.
