I've had some rx8 rotor housings "resurfaced" and they didn't come out all that well. Apparently the chrome on the renny housings is very thin and it simply wears and flakes away, and no amount of grinding will replace the lost chrome. So you can wind up with several hundred $ into a set of housings that is marginal at best. You also have a lot of cracking at the leading plug holes with these engines, and resurfacing will not resolve those issues either.
So yes, for iron housings, grind and resurface all you want. You're still up the creek for rotor housings in this engine.

Sadly I think we are both SOL looks like this guy forgot about his thread.
I really wanted an engine to build slowly over the next few months, mine is finally starting to go south.
