Black OEM FD3S Wheels with Dunlop Direzzas

Category: Wheels & Tires
Price: $900
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Others
Location (US State/Canada/Int): RI
Item Condition: Used

I have for sale a set of stock RX-7 OEM wheels powdercoated black with stock sized Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec tires.

The wheels themselves are in used, but good condition with no bends or cracks. They were professionally powdercoated ($100 a piece.) The paint has a few minor chips, but look great overall.

The tires mounted are practically brand new 225/50/16 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs. I have under 1,000 miles on them and 2 track events. Almost brand new. I bought these brand new last April from Tire Rack and they have been mounted on the car, with the car on jack stands (no flat spots)

$900 plus shipping and 3% PayPal (if applicable.)

Local pick up preferred in central Massachusetts or Providence, RI (whichever is most convenient for you).

I will get better pictures of the wheels and tires once I'm back at my garage.

After a track day at Monticello, Dunlops shown:

Mounted on Old tires (damn, do I need another set of V710s!):

Do these wheels fit the Rx8. I know the 17x9 Enkei RPF1 only have a tiny gap between the brakes

For what it's worth, the wheels are 16x8 +50.

From what I have found, some AT base RX-8 models came factory with 16" wheels. Unfortunately I am not sure exactly what year and model RX-8's these will fit, but the safest answer is if it came with 16" wheels, they should fit.

If interested, I will get a definitive answer one way or the other on fitment.

the size of the wheels is not what matters, it is the bolt pattern that matters. the bolt pattern of those wheels does happen to be 5x114.3 which is also the bolt pattern for an rx8 of any year model so yes they will fit. You might want to check the offset too though to make sure you wont have any scrapping problems or anything like that.

^^ Not at all true, factor in caliper clearance and offset

To be honest I am looking for 9" wide wheels. If the 16's would fit that would be nice though smaller lighter wheels = faster acceleration.
Do you know what they weigh? I am sure I could squeeze 255 or 265 tires on them. I have 255 on my 18x8.

Edit: Actually it does not look like you can buy wider "Autocross" tires then 225 for the 16" rim so I don't think they will work for me.

The tire and wheel combo weighs roughly 42.4 pounds on a bathroom scale.

For what it's worth, Hoosier sells A6 and R6 tires in 255/50/16s and 245/45/16s and Kumho sells V710s in 245/45/16 that would fit this set up.

Not that it would be apples to apples with my RX-7 to your RX-8, but I ran a set of 225/50/16 Kumho Escta V710s on a heavier wheel (pictured above) with pretty good results.

Thanks

^^^yes i agree but if you have the stock calipers i dont believe you will have a caliper problem and offset can be taken care of other ways so regardless you can get them to fit. IMO these would not look good on an 8 and for that price you might as well get a new pair of wheels.

Crazy.8 - yes, thank you. If you they won't fit your car and you don't like the price, by all means, please don't buy them.

Any interest in selling the wheels separately and shipping? If so, what would the cost be - ship to 84020? Would love Star Specs but already have a set of new, and probably not nearly as fun, Continentals to use.

Thanks!

Yea, I tried back when I first posted them up for sale but I don't have a high enough post count on the forums. I bet they'd be gone relatively quickly on either forum.

Thanks though.

CCW's are on the way. Would love to have both sets, but don't really need these anymore. Tires are damn near perfect and the wheels are rediculously light with a good powdercoat finish.

I am willilng to separate wheels and tires.
