Esmeril Turbo Kit sans turbo, Low mileage
#27
After reading your older posts and seeing the turbo is junk and the wastegate, how money parts would i have to change on this kit so i have a nice quality none cheap kit? I was under the impression it was a high quality kit now i see its turning out to be a joke.. Oh and is the turbo you have a bigger turbo smaller or the same? faster spool or slower spool?

I actually went with a turbocharger that is slightly smaller, however it offers a number of benefits:
1. Ball Bearing center housing: Less oil required for proper lubrication; longer bearing life; quicker transient response; faster initial spool
2. Single volute turbine housing: Better suited to exhaust manifold in kit; no turbulence introduced to the incoming exhaust stream due to a divided housing; better response due to less turbulent air
3. Trim and A/R matched to the RX-8's engine flow characteristic: highest efficiency possible; No risk of surge or choke (If need be, I can go into greater detail on turbocharger sizing principles)
4: Authentic Garrett Turbocharger: Quality is guaranteed; no need to worry about no-name parts failing
5: The GT3076 is still entirely capable for high-horsepower applications, rated to be effective in applications up to 525hp (turbobygarrett.com)
As far as pricing on various wastegate and blow-off / bypass valve options, I hadn't yet gotten this far before I cancelled my project. I imagine any number of second-hand quality pieces can be sourced relatively inexpensively.

Bump
In your honest opinion, what condition are all the parts in after being through two oil showers? You still have every single piece of hardware needed to install the kit? (less the turbo of course)
After this price drop bump of $500, what's your asking price now?
Thx.

All of the parts have been cleaned thoroughly, so I don't see any lingering problems popping up through use of the kit. I do still have all of the hardware and parts necessary to install, excluding the failed turbocharger.
The asking price is $4250 + Shipping, after the $500 drop.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Bringing this back from the dead...
$5000 and the complete kit, with the Garrett GT3076, is yours. If you're within a reasonable distance, I can also deliver the kit.

Another bump, the kit is still available, and the price is $5000 for the complete kit, with the Garrett GT3076. Delivery is still an option as well, as long as you're not too far!
