F/S: JL Audio 12w3, JL Audio 250/1, Line Converter and Custom Box/ Trunk Enclosure
FOR SALE:
JL Audio 12w3 Sub, JL Audio 250/1 Amp, Line Converter and Custom Box/ Trunk Enclosure. This setup adds a perfect amount of kick to the Bose system. It is great for listening to a wide range of music at low volumes or high. It will rattle your teeth if you deem it necessary. I would suggest putting some Dynomat in the trunk to absorb vibration as I hate the sound of rattling trunks rolling down the road. I have put the Dynomat in my trunk and you hear very little from outside the car when at higher volumes. I'm only selling because of the new JIC Rear Strut bar which now goes through the middle of the amp and storage compartments. As you can see the amp is now sitting on the bar which drives me crazy! If you have a Mazdaspeed or equivilent rear bar you will be fine with the set up.
It was custom made at Columbus Car Audio by a gentleman who owns a trick '93 RX-7 and has a passion for rotary's. He designed the entire unit to fit perfectly into our trunk space. The sub is mounted in a box which sits nicely into the trunks cubby hole. He had an extra rotor in his garage so he traced it on wood, cut them out and glued them to the cover. Thr RX-8 logo was blown up on the computer and cut out of wood also. All in all a nice and subtle touch for a more custom look. The amp sits below the plexy glass in the top (middle) rear and is flanked by two storage compartments which I chose to use for my extra quart of oil, the various emergancy tire kits and jack equipment. Once installed, none of the separate pieces move which is nice is you like to drive your 8 as hard as I do.
I've had the setup for 2 1/2 years now. In that time, I've put approximately 6k miles on my 8 so the system hasn't been used all that often. It has never been abused and all parts are in great condition.
I'm asking $900 shipped.
