its not better or frequent maps. What he does is provide you with a map generated to fit your set up but if you are running just a cat back or stock the maps that cobb provides are fine.

Not sure that's correct since every car is different, and MM does provide better maps. Good luck with the sale.

coming from a world of tuning turbo hondas im going to say running a basemap on a car isnt the best idea you can see a wide range of diffrances on 2 virtualy identical cars running the same map id imagine a rotary is the same but this is my first. i would say this is a good deal if you are actualy looking for power get this and take it to a shop that will tune a rotary. that will get you better gas milage, more power, and a safer tune. ive been wanting to play with one of these on the rx8 motor but my cash/time is wraped up in the grassroots $2008 project we got going right now.

if this is avalible in a month or so i might have to jump it

mabe you cant read but what i had said was that unless you have mods other than a cat back the MM maps would be better suited for you but if you are running stock or just a cat back cobb provides maps for that. also getting your car tunned is the best way to go, MM's maps just get you close to a tune its not exact.

mabe you should read up on the cobb before you start to flame. it comes with a stock, stage 1, fuel saver, anti theft, and valet mode maps. MM's gives you a base map for your mods and then small tweak maps till you get the car where you want it to be. currently because i have a MS cai and do not have the maps for it im kinda stuck with something that will not work for me.

Yes we know what an AccessPort is. We're not flaming it, but you. Do you own one, if not please talk to someone that you know or get along with who has one, and hopefully you'll listen to them. For more information go check out the AccessPort thread, Its about 125 pages long with basically every second post stating point after point of how wrong you are. When you have a couple people calling you out on this did you ever think there might be some truth to it...wait...never mind, you haven't listened yet.

Is there not a way to program this yourself for people that purchase from Cobb directly?

Nope. Cobb PRO Tuner only at the moment.

The AccessTUNER RACE (consumer version of the software) should be forthcoming in a few months (I just did a revision on the manual, so it is moving along).
But, for now, I am practically the only way to get custom calibrations on the thing.
There are other folks in the PRO Tuner network, but I haven't heard anything about calibrations from them one way or another.
Steve Kan (Gotham Racing) did a custom tune on a car and posted a thread around here about it.
There are other vendors on this site that are Cobb dealers, but I haven't reviewed any calibrations from them and there isn't even any really chatter on the inside about their efforts, either.
