Fs: Bnib Front Slotted / Drilled Rotors Pics!
Whats up fellas, I have a set of brand new R1 Concepts drilled and slotted front rotors. They have been profesionally powder coated black. Did this as it coats the entire rotors and prevents rust on the outer edges the hubs and most importantly the slots and holes on the rotor.
You have to get them re-surfaced from any mechanic shop to take the powder coat off the contact area of the disc. Its a little trick my local shop uses to prevent rust on rotors. most shops do them for 10-20 bucks. My mechanic didnt charge me anything to turn my rears as he installed them for me too.
These are for the RX8's that did not come as the "sport" models or came with the 16 inch rims from the factory. Believe the autos came with a slightly smaller disc compared to the manuals.
120 + shipping for them.
If you have any further questions let me know.
PM me or email me at Kristonr@rogers.com

I have done this to my rotors and not a speck of rust! im sure most of you know that the outer edges of the rotor and the hubs become rusted very easily this takes care of that! plus it looks bad *** after you turn the rotors as the holes and the slots stay black from the powder coat.
Remember i paid 60 extra just to powder coat em.

Have a friend with an RX-8 and he just got slotted and drilled rotors. We were just diiscussing how to paint them because they rust. Should have done this beforehand. I'll have to PM him this thread.
So he can cry.

if you can track down a rear set and powder coat them. I would be interested in a set of 4. As my 8 went for winter storage and the previous rotors are just solid orange for all 4. PM me if you can track them down and a price before you invest doing it. TIA!

For those that are up to painting their rotor hubs. Use a grinder with a wire brush wheel on the hub to get the rust and existing paint off. Then the key is to use Acetone to prep the area before painting. This gets the moisture out of the metal and creates a great surface for painting with high temp paint.
The other key is to paint flat black because the silver gets dirty anyways...
I feel that a person should see the rims before the rotors.
