IA FS: Cobb AccessPort (SOLD) and non-resonated midpipe (SOLD)

I have 2 items up for sale. Both prices include insured UPS shipping from Dubuque, IA to United States only. I accept verified PayPal only. Once payment is received I will ship out the same (business) day and provide you with the tracking number.

MIDPIPE HAS BEEN SOLD

Cobb AccessPORT $450

I bought this from www.mazdamaniac.com a little over a year ago and have only used it a half dozen times so it's still in great shape.

It's hard to see in the above picture but it is showing the State as un-installed.

Here it is showing Model 2004-2008 USDM RX-8

Non-resonated Midpipe $115 SOLD

I bought this from http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/rx...%20midpipe.htm a little over a year ago. The finish has lost its shine but it is still in good shape.

PM me for any more info and thanks for looking.

If I'm not mistaken, the AccessPort will need to be sent back to Cobb to 'unmarry' the unit (being that it was 'married' to another car). I understand they charge $300 for this service. Is this correct?

^please confirm the above

What maps do you have on it? Since you have an AT, it was configured for ATs, correct?

That's unmarry the car itself (return to stock), right? Does the AP itself matter?

I would like to purchase the AP if you can let me know what maps you have. Please let me know, thank you.

Jin you can purchase it and download the stock maps from the COBB site. Any MM maps he has on his car wont work on yours cause all cars are different.

What makes his car better might make your car not even run. But still a good buy for you since your stock AT.

I have un-installed the AP from my car, it is back to stock. The about menu shows that it is un-installed. As far as I know that is all you have to do, if I am wrong just let me know what else I need to do and it will be done. The maps that are on it right now are the base line maps (from 2008) from MM for a 2004 AT and the midpipe.

I am still keeping the car. My interest have gone from fast cars to much faster bikes.... ok well that a little baby due in April

Sorry WhiteSnowflake8, I promised a friend I would help him roof his parent's garage. Funny though, he is coming from CR.

Yeah, I accidently ordered it with MT maps. I was able to delete those and install the AT maps without any problems.

Confirmed from Cobb:

Mike,

That is correct. An AccessPORT only needs to be properly uninstalled from a vehicle before it can be used on another vehicle supported by the AccessPORT part number.

Once the original owner uninstalls the AP from his car, it will work on ANY RX-8 in the world, regardless of year or model, up to 2008.
However, the only calibrations it will have are the North American Cobb maps for the 2004 - 2008 manual transmission.
Any other maps needed will either have to be built by the owner using the AP RACE software or purchased through an e-Tuner or PRO Tuner.

You would need to buy it -- cost $299
You could also go to a tuner shop and have them dyno tune your COBB if they know how.

I'm also in need of the cobb unit but everyone wants to sell it for $450? Add the $299 from MM and your back to what a new one cost. It doesn't make sense. I'm either going to buy it new or at a much lower price used so that I can get MM tunes. Does this work with the stock greddy intake or do I have to get another one like the Mazsport 3.5''?

It makes sense if you don't want MM maps. You aren't required to use his maps, other people can tune these cars. Also Cobb provides maps for MT and software for you to do it yourself.

You can very easily tune the car yourself. This will show the AFR readings on it correct? If so thats really all you need. Data logging software would help but with someone else in the car you could very well street tune it.
