Already have a pm from leechieboi so he has dibs. I read what happened to alien and that sucks so I won't be doing the same to leechieboi. If the deal falls through alien has 2nd dibs. I'll send MM an e-mail, it may take him a day or two to respond so just be patient.

I'm starting to feel really bad for Jeff, having to do all this extra support as everyone seems to be reselling their APs within weeks of buying them. I'm not putting anyone down for selling them, I'm just saying it sucks for him as he's really backed up. If I was him I'd charge extra for support beyond the first owner. I guess he's just too nice to do that Which is not a bad thing for me as I will eventually end up buying one.

Is there something behind the scene here on why people are selling them. Seems like alot of people are selling htem all of a sudden, maybe not the numbers that everyone was expectiong or is just an odd coincidence.

I have a feeling people are expecting too much power out of them, and don't appreciate the other benefits as much. It seems like you'll get ~10hp, plus or minus 5. But on top of that you get genuine access to your ECU, better torque band, significantly better fuel mileage, tweaks in the OMP and max RPM's, reportedly better idle, all coming together to probably increase engine life (at the slight expense of cat life heh) It's a whole package that's overall quite impressive. I think a lot of people are just thnking....."Pay $700, get 20 horsepower", an electronic bolt-on if you will. It's just not like that.

Then again, mine comes next week, we'll see what happens...

he's sold hundreds. Only a small fraction are selling them, and people sell stuff all the time for no reason besides the desire for some cash. Look at the AFE STS's for example, they're always for sale, yet no one complains about them.

In addition to what mysql said, many people buy on impulse and end up regretting it because they expect too much from what ever they purchased.

Wasnt trying to turn the thread into a discussion but some good points have been maid. My purchase would be based on the deleting the midpipe CEL, moving the limiter and maybe expecting 5HP from it. can not expect much out of our cars (straight line anyway) - or so i have learned.

its not a damn turbo, people have to realize this when purchasing it. its for finer tuning and direct access to your ECU. 25% better gas mileage alone you will buy this thing in a year or so with fuel prices the way they are.

anyone who isn't happy with the AP isn't going to be happy with any other fuel management system for the RX-8. This adjusts anything the others can, plus it's not a piggyback. So it idles like stock, and can adjust just about anything you would want to tweak in the vehicle (coolant fans, omp flow rates, etc)

I've actually had it for almost 2 months. I expected anywhere from 10 to 20 hp. I actually got the 10 I was looking for. I was and am very happy with it. At this point a huge TV is more important and my wife won't let me get the bigger one without spending my own money. There goes my track funds as well. I'm actually keeping the tune file and next year when my next work bonus comes in I will probably buy another one.

I e-mailed MM yesterday, not sure how long he will take to respond.

So far, only 4 or 5 people have resold them.
That is less than 3% of the AccessPORTs I have out there, so it isn't a big deal.
Take a look at the Int-X resale numbers to get a perspective.
How many of those had to get flipped before Scott started having to rethink his support scheme?

MM,

Will you support who ever buys it from me? That's what the potential buyers want to know. By the way I've been getting 20 mpg highway since the dyno day. Great job

Like MM said just because your selling something it doesn't mean it sucks. Some have sold due to financial crunches and some may have sold beacuse they rushed into it without doing proper research. I'm selling because my wife won't let me get the bigger TV without giving something up. I love my car and the affects of the AP, but I can always buy it later again
