FS: Special Fuel Pump key adapter - must need to open / change fuel pump

This is the unique "key" required to open the plastic ring that holds our fuel pump in place. The reason I have this was I had a fuel pump hose joint failure that could possibly be manufcature defect (the hose joint was consantly bended slightly bcoz it was not at the right direction ( should be facing directly to our engine.. rather it was 45 degrees or so offset to the right which exposed the hose joint instead of sitting underneath the rear seat leading the metal plate that covers it constantly had pressure on it.. then when you sit ppl on top of the metal plate (its underneath the rear left passenger seat could add little more pressure on it) which resulted in that joint snapping over time from fatigue.. ))

I am not from a workshop but I have a CNC cutted aluminmum alloy block, this is weighted around 1kg, but if required i can get a thinner version also it can have handle for you to turn too.

*Note - according to Mazda Australia they dont have this adapter to take that plastic ring off, although is listed in workshop manual. What they do is they "hack" or "beak" that ring.. and replace a new one.. which costs around 120 AUD. -..-" **

As fuel system needs to be sealed tight for pump vacum, from factory it is really tight and there is no way u can turn that ring... as soon as you try to hack it open with a screw driver .. one of the plastic plates that allows you to get ur screw driver on to would snap.. to tight the thing back on.. u would try to hack it back tight too.. and it would not be so tight.. bcoz u are not tightening that ring properly..

This item is located in Melbourne Australia, $300 AUD not include shipping.

The SST (shop specified tool) at the dealer is a universal type unit that attaches to a 1/2 inch drive.

How do you get leverage with that one?

It does not look like it remedies the two black tabs that hold the fuel pump ring from turning.

Does a person have to break those to use this?

I am not saying that is a bad design but I studied the Mazda tool when I used it and those are the things I thought about and wondered why it was so expensive...

As long as you have something to hit against with a rubber mallet to turn it as you hold the black tabs out with a second set of hands you might be good. Looks like a decent chunk of metal.

upon shipment I can get the workshop to cut it thinner for lighter weight and make a handle to turn as mention before instead of the two screws where we used a metal pole and had it like diagonal between the two screw points to turn it.

In regards to the black tab, I am unsure as i only witness the actual twisting part of the plastic ring and taking out of the fuel pump. But if you said you can hold it out with another hand.. is it possible to do that with this tool ?

I dont want to give ppl any mis leading information, but in fact we did use this tool to unlock the fuel pump.
