Not sure if I've ever seen a "knock off" of that exhaust...
Looks genuine enough to me. Mazdaspeed offered 2 mufflers - "sport sound" (this one), and the dual muffler one that most are used to seeing.

There are two versions of the Mazdaspeed catback for the RX8.
The Version I only had one large muffler, while the Version II had two smaller mufflers.
The picture above is from a Version II (I think it may be my photo, which is okay to use ). OP's pictures look an awful lot like the Version I muffler but I don't know what tell signs the V1 really had, as the V1 looks lose to OEM in the first place.

The one in the picture is barely any different then OEM while the V2 with the twin small mufflers is quite loud (I own it).
