R3 wheels with Michelin tires.
I’ve got a set of R3 wheels recently refurbished on my 2011 R3. I’m not sure what these wheels are going for currently there are some listings in the $5k range on eBay. They’re currently wrapped in Michelin high performance all season tires. All four wheels were recently Trued and refurbished by AcuTru a local wheel refurbishing company near me. Might entertain a trade for a well matched set of aftermarket wheels and tires. Mostly looking for cash. I’ll set the starting ask at $5k OBO based on the listings I’ve seen and I’ll go from there. The only issue is with the tires. One of the tires has a small chunk of the side wall missing from the previous owner. I’ve had the car for over a year now and haven’t had any issues with it but might be worth considering. I can provide more photos in a little bit and upon request. I’m away from the car currently.

I didn’t expect them to sell at 5k just have 0 frame of reference for a set of 4 with rubber. I have put 3k on the tires myself idk what they were when I got them. I can send photos of tread. I have seen them go for $2k on here. With rubber in 2014. The wheels are more rare I’m sure now. So idk if $1500 would be worth it to sell.

This set from a dealer is $5300 no tires, no tpms sensors. These, I’m assuming, are new. Mine are like new and are ready to mount, Idk. I’m hopeful lol. I just spent $12k on my bathroom which are up all of my build money. So if I wanna get the car painted, and coil overs, and the engine rebuilt and ported, and all the other stuff.....I’ll need to recoup lol.

Mazda upcharges the price of the R3 wheels to try to deter people from purchasing them for their RX8's and keeping them unique to the R3. When i purchased my R3 wheels, i got them at about $1.2k for a set of 4 with some Hancock V12's on them. Normal pricing for these depending on condition will be between $1k - $2k. If a seller is selling brand new at a reasonable price, probably around $2.5k - $3k. Though the demand for these are high and the supply is low. Other options for seller is to look at Yahoo Japan Auctions as well.

including the listings you saw, which again, is why you are still seeing them. Noone is buying those lol. looks like you can still get a few g's but noones gonna pay 5k no matter how you justify it

again I posted for what is available right now. Based on current asking prices. I know what it would be worth to sell them for me and if I get an offer that meets that standard I will sell them. If you aren’t interested in buying R3 wheels and making me an offer why are you even clicking the add? I’m a little confused to why so many people came in here just to argue with my asking price. And none of you have said “hey I’m looking to buy a set of these but I’m not looking to spend this much. I was thinking they would cost this much” or PMing me and making an offer.

Wow what a dumpster fire this has turned into...
Anyways, got some questions. Mostly on the tires.
What Michelin High Performance A/S are they?
You said they have about 3k on them, how old are they?
Finally, probably because I am on mobile, where in the world are you?
Local pick up only I assume?

Lol love the comments about price for OEM wheels. With new tires and the referb you are at $2k without the wheels. These are OEM BBS wheels, if you were to buy the equivalent from BBS directly you’re looking at $4k and you still have to get sensors and tires.
To me $5k obo is an honest starting price point. As time goes on it will be harder and harder to find R3 parts. Plus it’s OBO, if someone truly wants to buy them, throw out a price, it’s OBO. Can’t hurt to offer something lower and see if they bite, it’s called haggling.
OP, you might want to post this on Miata and Mazda 3 forums too. I know the Mazda 3 peeps like Rx8 wheels.

I was seriously considering getting rid of them. Honestly 19" on the RX8 is a bit much. I'd rather stick with 18's. However, my R3 came with them. So I didn't have to spend more money on getting lightweight 18's. I simply got decent rubber and use the OEM stuff. As a daily driver, getting rubber on a decent rim is more than enough. Different story if you're going to be running on the track.
5G's US for wheels and tires along with sensors isn't out of the ordinary. Especially since they've been refurbished to brand new.
Good luck with the sale.

Everyone wants to brag about getting a "fantastic deal". Never mind the fact they're OEM forged BBS wheels. Its getting tougher to find OEM R3 parts. The wheels being a highlight. For their size and weight, it's a pretty damn good wheel considering it's coming from the factory.
