Just an FYI.
A friend of mine son was almost killed buy a 3/4 ton truck. The truck owner only had state min. insurance & his sons insurance co. didn't have to pay damages because his son took out the air bag steering wheel & seats. Installed racing seats & a wheel.
They only paid for his injury bills. Now the kid is 19 and can hardly walk. Sad but true! That's why you can't trade in the car. My .02 cents is you should trade even up.
Good luck.

when i bought this car it was to be a track day car. not driven on the road. at the time i had 4 cars and two bikes already, and my daily driver was a 700hp mustang (rx-865 you know) or a C6 Z06, as i had just crashed my 08 paddleshift vette with 2000 miles on it into a semi (his fault).
not everyone reading this post will be thinking "gosh i could slap those in my car and drive around on the street!" there are lots of people in this forum who track their cars. exclusively. and maybe one of them will have seats to trade, as it would save them money if they are going to the track and have to rip out their seats anyway.
some racing organizations (as you may already know) require you to have seats, harnesses, and harness bar, to race in their events. in which case trading your stock seats for racing equipment would be VERY WISE and preferrable to buying new and having your stockers take up space in your garage, like i did.
and those that are "showing restraint from crapping on this thread" dont bother. crap away. i will gladly read the opinion of someone i have never met that they decide to puke up onto an obscure webpage 99.99999999999 percent of the world will never see among the trillions of threads on the net, an opinion they dont have to give, but they do anyways because they have nothing better to do than post in threads that dont pertain to them. an opinion that wont make one bit of difference to me or anyone else that reads it. you have never met me, and never will, but go ahead and try to pontificate and sound intelligent about how stupid it is to trade the super heavy stock seats for 12 lb frp's and a chromoly bar, having the correct safety equipment while legally dropping about a hundred lbs. or how the stock leather seats hold you so much more securely in the seat when youre pulling 1.2 G around corners at VIR. or how someone could obtain new seats from a miniscule, startup 'racing' supply website nobody has ever heard of before. all this safety equip was bought at VIVID racing, a REAL racing supply company, and professionally installed with custom made brackets.
im not some 17 yr old kid that slapped stuff in a car to be "cool" and pretend like i race my car. this is real equipment and it meets the requirements for you to do a lot of track days. if you are interested in THAT aspect of it, then show some interest.

Since Vivid is local for me, I can tell you that it is anything but a "real racing supply company".
Vivid is, essentially, Race Roots on steroids.
