probably a dumb question, but if we already have the stock hid's on our car, can we just swap out the bulbs with this kit, or do we need the balasts and everything as well???

so up for sale are 8k's..I have the stock hid's too. will I see a difference with these? I like the white/blueish light they give off now but still was wondering what these would do for me..don't know much about headlights ha

 

A ballast is a ballast, they power 30k well say.

The bulb is what is color the output is going to be. The lower the HID bulb (k) the low intensity of color. The higher the (k) the brighter the bulb. i think 5k is the whites and brightest output of any HID kit. yeah 12k sounds like it will produce more light however the actual output (distance is decreased)

you can just buy a bulb for your stock HID ballast and be ok. i think the output on the stock ballast can only hold up to a 8k bulb. 12k needs a bigger ballast then stock.

I think i said all that correctly, and made somewhat of sense..

 

so potentially I could buy these bulbs (8k), plug them right in and they're brighter/shine farther correct?
